REVIEW: MAC PHRESH OUT VELUXE PEARLFUSION EYESHADOW PALETTE

Christmas is officially over for good BUT my tree is still up - and chances are
it will STILL be up until the end of January, 'cause that's the way I roll.

Today's review is one of the amazing gifts I received from Santa-boy this year.

I haven't done a "What I got for Christmas" post however in the next few weeks
I'll be playing with all my new makeup and putting up some reviews on here.

The first on the list is from Rihanna's Holiday Collection for MAC

that came out last month and it's the Phresh Out Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Palette....A MOUTHFUL.

It's 5 shades put together that go from shimmery to glittery.
They're fairly neutral shades over all but can't be considered a "complete"
palette in my opinion for lack of a matte transition shade.
I wouldn't be able to just take this anywhere I travel
without having to pack some extra shades.

Onto the swatches...

As you can all tell, the two darker shades are pigmented and really pretty.
My issue is with the lighter shades, especially the ones in the middle area
which are pink and gold.
They're chalky and kind of difficult to work with causing some fallout.

They work best if applied with a wet brush and in a patting motion.

I would say to use these two specific shades in smaller or specific areas and not
as an "all over the lid" colour unless you have a strong base.

Favourite Shades: Preshout 5 & 6 (the dark shades)

Least Favourte Shades: I like the colour selection
just not the application of the glitter shades - way too messy.

Final Scores:

Product: 7/10
Pigmentation: 7/10
Longevity:8/10 (USE EYESHADOW PRIMER!)
Application: 8/10

Should you purchase it?

If you enjoy glittery and shimmery shades then this could be of your taste!

I don't believe this is the best small palette good for travel but the
packaging and all the shininess makes it feel quite expensive.

What are your thoughts on it?

What do you like/hate about this palette?

  3. Thanks for the review, I've been wondering how those shades would look swatched. I love the packaging but I'm just not a big fan of glitters.
