RIMMEL X RITA ORA: THE NAIL POLISH EDIT

Hello lovelies!

IT'S OFFICIALLY SPRING TIME and to celebrate I decided to post a little something with cute pastel colours to cheers us all up.

The Rimmel collection with Rita has just launched and the line incorporates colour rush-balms and nail polishes. As much as I was excited for new lip products, nothing really stood out to me so I didn't buy anything on that front HOWEVER the nail-polish colours are adorable!

I picked up 2 shades: Pillow Talk and Lose Your Lingerie.

- Lose Your Lingerie -

- Pillow Talk -

The shades:

The colour range could be bigger but overall they have a nice collection that can go from spring to autumn and any occasion.

The application:

The wand is very short and bulky which makes it kind of difficult to apply and the colour/ quantity don't distribute evenly around the nail. You get lines that need to be retouched at least a couple of times.  You need a minimum of 2 coats to get an opaque effect. Definitely not a product I'd use if I was in a hurry for a party or meet up since you really need to sit there and work at it.

Drying time:

60 seconds? It even takes less!

Longevity:

It lasts a good 3 days. It does chip fairly easily if you're doing lots of manual work though. You gotta be a girly girl when you wear this polish and let your man do the work! ;)

Overall final review:

These polishes are fun but I was expecting better quality. I love Rimmel and have tried lots of their nail varnishes so far but this collection in particular seems to lack in formula and application method. It almost felt as if I was playing with nail polish for kids. I do like the shades though and considering the cheap price anyone can afford them which is always a plus.

Have you ever tried any Rimmel nail polishes?

-> Superdrug is currently running a 'Buy 1 get the other HALF price' on Rimmel products!

  4. I really like the colours, there is some lovely pastel ones! I got the White Hot Love and I agree, the application isn't great. I had to do three coats to get an opaque finish!
