Hello there! I hope your week has been great so far.
I am currently "on holiday". And by 'holiday' I mean I need to do essays for uni. How fun.
On one of my recent beauty hauls I mentioned to you guys that I purchased a couple of Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabulipstick Collagen Boosting Lipsticks and a few of you asked me to review them because you were curious - and I can see why. S&P lippies are not really hyped up in the beauty community and honestly I do not know why.
Swatch up: Naked Beige
Swatch Down: Red My Lips
Photo above is 2 coats. Photo below is one coat.
*Forgive me for the awful quality of the lip swatches. I had a problem with my camera and had to use my crappy phone. *
My lips are quite pigmented so bare that in mind, as with any other lipstick, these shades could look a little different when you wear them. I picked these two particular ones because they're quite neutral looking with one coat on, but can be built to a much more intense look. Red My Lips can literally become a nice red colour that does not scream "LOOK AT ME" too much though. I'm too shy sometimes to wear bold lip shades. I'm always scared they'll smudge or look odd when I'm done eating or snaking. (and I snack a lot..)
Both lipsticks are matte. I would not recommend wearing them if you had extremely dry lips because they can look a little off and emphasise the dryness but at the same time they're easy to put on, they're not sticky and they stay on for a long time. Yep, go ahead and eat that greasy burger if you want.
Nah, please don't. It's not healthy! haha
It's not on the cheaper end of the spectrum for a drugstore lipstick but I think it delivers well enough to be considered almost high end, so the price doesn't bother me.
Sweet Vanilla (similar to MAC)
You can't really taste it once applied though so no worries if you're one of those people that dislikes scented lipsticks for that particular reason.
Velvet/Matte long-lasting finish
A little expensive for drugstore brands
Not a wide colour selection
I think these lipsticks are a great drugstore alternative to high end ones. They feel expensive and are of great quality. The packaging feels almost luxurious with that touch of fun factor that brands like Benefit have. There are only 6 shades unfortunately. I wish they added more colours so that all skin tones could pick at least 2 shades and also have variety for different periods of the year. It would be nice to have different finishes as well. I love matte lipsticks but would like to see a more moisturising choice that is not their gloss sticks.
Have you ever tried these lipsticks?
What are your favourite Soap and Glory products?
Oh, I'd like to take a moment to thank some of my readers for nominating me at the Company Style Blogger Awards as Best International Newcomer. If YOU want to nominate me then just click HERE and go ahead. It would literally make my day and it takes only 20 seconds. ♡
