Dark Neutral Nails ft. PUPA LASTING COLOR

Can you spot me in the reflection?

You know that feeling when you take a HUGE break from applying nail polishes and then you have that tough task of choosing the first shade after a long time? It took me like 10 minutes the other day!

When I was sorting out my ever so growing pile of nail varnishes I realised I had one I've never actually worn before and decided to give it a shot and start fresh. This specific shade was chosen by my mum when she was in Italy and even though some people will categorise it as quite a "mature" choice, almost TOO mature, I am actually a huge fan of browns and dark neutrals for both lips and nails! I know it's probably not the most summery colour you'll see around but it suits everyone - especially if you're rocking a tan!

I don't own much from the brand Pupa but so far all their products have been surprisingly good. I say 'surprisingly' because they're very affordable! When I was 15 and still lived in Italy, my friends and I used to shop at the Pupa store quite often and we were never disappointed!

So let's get into some details now...

The Packaging: The bottle is so small and cute. The shiny silvery cap makes this line and brand quite recognisable from far away, not gonna lie.

Shade : 917 TAUPE (you have over 100 shades to choose from!)

Availability : Available in full, metallic and pearly colors or in colors with glitters and paillettes, to be used either alone or as top coats.

The Applicator : it has a  rounded, anti-drip tip and guarantees a perfect color release and even application.

The Claims : I see it screams "ultra glossy" effect. I personally would't say that. It's pretty standard. You would need to apply a top coat if you like a more shiny/gel effect. The swatch below was with no top coat though - so you can get an idea of the final result.

The actual product : The colour is really intense and you only need one coat. I also love that it dries really quickly which means I don't have to waste 10 minutes waiting around and not touching anything.
OT but isn't it irritating that in these 10 crucial minutes you would probably need to do something important or a crazy situation comes up and you need to deal with it? Talk about bad timing...

In the photo below the nail polish was on for 3 days already
and as you see - it lasted really well!
(Yeah, I ain't a good hand-model but I tried! )

Have you ever tried anything from this brand?
Do you like dark neutral shades like me?

I hope you found this review helpful.

  6. Quick dry is a big consideration for me, I really can't be bothered waiting around forever for polish to dry, especially if I need to go to the loo!
