NEW! MAYBELLINE BABYSKIN INSTANT FATIGUE BLUR in COOL ROSE {REVIEW}

I was just walking in Boots last week when I spotted this little new edition of the Maybelline Baby Skin primer. I did review the original Instant Pore Eraser primer on my channel HERE and also compared it to another great and similar product on the highstreet HERE if you were into a reading mode today.

You guys know by now that I am obsessed with primers because I think having a good and smooth base makes the whole makeup application easier and the final result much better. My main goals is to feel hydrated, cover pores if possible and even up my skin tone when needed. I'm not too fussy about the last one because I always apply foundation and luckily my skin doesn't have really red areas. With that said, let's get into the review...

The first main difference is the colour of the packaging - the original primer is light blue whilst the one I chose is a light pink/peachy shade. There are 2 new editions to choose from: Cool Rose or Apricot. From my understanding the only difference between them is the scent and the shade of the products but their purpose is exactly the same.
Just a reminder that the Original Baby Skin was clear whilst the Cool Rose is pink and the consistency is way more runny and light.

The new editions are both water-based blurring products (the original is silicon-based since it's targeted to pores), they hydrate your skin and they're very easy to absorb so even oily-skin gals like me can use them. They do not leave any greasy feeling when applied. The finishing result is a smooth, refreshed and revitalised look. I have been using my primer on hangover days after a night out and not many hours of sleep.

I personally haven't noticed a huge help with evening out my skin tone or in covering pores however this primer is perfect for summer because of how light-weight it is and how refreshing it feels on your face.  I do think it's something to try out if you feel your skin is a little dehydrated.

You can find it in Boots and Superdrug for £7.99.
Currently Boots is running a 3 for 2 on Maybelline cosmetics so hurry up if you want to
get your hands on it!

  3. I wasn't the biggest fan of the original Baby Skin but I like the fact that these are water based instead of silicon based. I think I definitely need to give these a try and especially when you mention the Boots deal! Hehe. :)

  4. This doesn't sound like it'd do much for me, I like a primer to hide my pores and anchor my foundation down! It's good that they're expanding the range though :)

  9. Great review! I have never been one to use a primer, but perhaps I will try this one. It's reasonably priced, so I wouldn't mind giving it a go. Thanks!! :)
