TOPSHOP BEAUTY AW14 MAKEUP COLLECTIONS PREVIEW!

Hello hello ladies! I hope your week has been great so far!

I was lucky enough to be invited to take a peek at the upcoming Topshop Beauty collections  (craaaazy, I know) that will be released in the next few months so obviously I wanted to take my camera with me and share with y'all my experience, excitement and the products that are coming out soon!

The event was held at the home of fashion events - Somerset House! It's always nice to go there for any occasion given the excellent location. It's always full of galleries, exhibitions, nice restaurants and great shops, obviously.

So without any more useless chat, let's get into it!

METALLICS

The first collection that caught my eye by the entrance was the METALLICS one. I admit I am not a huge fan of metallic lipsticks or blushes but I was immediately attracted to the gorgeous colours and the ever so subtle shimmer in them. TopShop made it possible to rock the 80s trend not looking ridiculous. The metallic effect is very subtle so anyone - from pale to very dark girls - can find a shade to suit them and their needs. The variety is nice because you get to choose between deeper colours and more neutral ones. May I add, I swatched the shades and they don't look "old school" to me at all - which is what tends to happen with shimmery lipsticks most of the time. I have been given a couple of things to try out from this line so expect a review really soon here on the blog.

Metallic Cream Blushes - £7
Available in 2 colours: Pulse ( rose gold ) and Aorta ( mauve pink )

Metallic Lipsticks - £8

EYES AND LIPS

This collection is for that slow transition between summer and autumn. You get your bright lip colours but you also start getting into the darker ones as the weather progresses and becomes colder as days grow shorter. I think this is the collection to kick start your new academic year and get you excited for what's to come. There is a variety of products you get to choose from.

Chubby Liner in Bambi ( black ) - £7

Kajal Liner in Lucky 13 ( black ) - £7

MONO Eye Shadows - £5

Available in 4 shades: Lunar ( black/brown ) ; Interstellar ( grey/purple ) ; Galaxy ( brown ) ; Explored ( dark brown )

Lip Primer in Everlast ( neutral/natural ) - £8

Iridescent Lip Bullet - £8

Available in 2 shades: Electric Pink ( hot pink ) ; Coral Frost ( Orange )

Matte Lip Bullet - £8

Available in 3 shades: Plastique ( pink ) ; Could This Be Love ( red orange ) ; Call Me Queen Bee
 ( purple )

Lip Perfecting Base - £8

Glow Dust in Radiate ( gold ) - £10

AVAILABLE FROM AUGUST 2014

Obviously I had to swatch some of the amazing lipsticks

CHRISTMAS 14

This is all you need if you plan on gifting makeup to a friend these Christmas holidays. Each pack contains either a blush and lipstick or 2 lip bullets or a mascara, a pencil liner and a neutral palette. The last one is my favourite option to be honest! You can see the palette in the second photo I posted on top. It has 4 shades and it's very easy to use to create amazing looks from day to night. You also get nail polishes in sets of 2 or 3 or single ones to put up the tree. I thought it was an adorable idea and the packaging rocks! I haven't been given the prices yet but I'm sure they will be fairly affordable. Besides you'll get a variety of choices for all types of budgets!

THE FACE

Well, we were all waiting for this. I am super excited because it's always nice to try new base products for the face that are at affordable/drugstore prices. Not everyone can go out and purchase a £30 foundation!

The foundations they decided to create are very light weight and meant for a natural finish. You may be a little disappointed if I tell you that there are only 5 shades to choose from HOWEVER the foundation claims to encapsulate tone and adjust itself to your pigment so that you'd achieve the perfect match. This is on my list of products to try out this winter for sure!

The foundation retails for £16, which yes..it can be considered a bit steep considering you can easily walk into superdrug or boots and find endless amounts of foundations retailing less than £10. The question is - does it work? If it does, I would be willing to spend that money.

They also made two different primers:

 - Airbrush Primer ( £12 ) that is supposed to banish pores and blemishes and add a glow from within.
-  Colour Correcting Primer ( £12 ) - that is for us oily girls - and is meant to absorb oil and banish shine & redness for a flawless base.

The concealer palette is what caught my eye the most. You get an under eye concealer, a blemish concealer, a colour correcting concealer and a setting powder.

Basically a staple for you handbag because you can touch up anything during the day and set it too! It's very pocket-friendly so it wouldn't be an issue to travel around with it.

AVAILABLE FROM SEPTEMBER 2014

AUTUMN/ WINTER 14

The Autumn/Winter collection was full of surprises because as you have a cheeky look at the products you might feel a little overwhelmed by how dramatic and dark the shades might look. Some of us are not comfortable wearing these crazy colours on the day to day basis to university or out with friends. Let's face it - it takes balls cause if something ain't right then it's embarrassing. The good thing about these bad boys is that the shades are rather sheer. Oh yes, even that crazy almost-black on the far left in the photos. You can actually wear these every day out and about and they just give you that pop of colour. I think the the whole range is suitable for younger girls as well if they feel like wearing something on their face. The products felt quite moisturising too and they glide on so easily! They're on my list of things to get in the next few months!

The cheek gels are great too because they only give a wash of colour and especially in winter it will look like it's the cold giving you a nice natural healthy tint.

The collection is completed by nail polishes of the same shades - perfect from Halloween all the way to Christmas!

Cheek Gels - £7
Available in 4 shades: Museum ( red brown ) ; Sibling ( plum ) ; Beep ( bright red ) ; Reign ( raspberry ) ; Phenomenon ( coral )

Lip Polish - £9
Available in 5 shades ( no specific names )

Nails - £5
Available in 5 shades: Exhibit ( red brown ) ; Middle Child ( plum ) ; Toot ( bright red ) ; Bind ( raspberry ) ; Genius ( coral )

AVAILABLE FROM OCTOBER 2014

So there's that!
This is all I got to see and was lucky enough to take some goodies home I'll play with - and then of course review for you guys in more depth!

I hope this was helpful and got some of you excited for what's to come - so you can save some pennies and get your hands on this stuff as soon as it comes out!
