There's one thing I can guarantee on this blog - and that's to be always ready to post about lipsticks. Throw them all at me - no matter their price tag or colour. I will try them all because they're probably my most favourite makeup item to play with and collect. That said, it won't come as a surprise that I was well excited to try out this brand new member of my family - the Lavera lipstick in Exotic Grapefruit* that was kindly sent to me.
A little background info - this brand is german, they have a range of both skin care/ body care and makeup and most importantly they're 100% natural! It's worth mentioning that a huge majority of their products are vegan friendly! Ticking the boxes so far? I think so.
Now, onto the lipstick itself - it's from a new range and you can choose your shade from 9 colours available. I decided to go with a neutral peach because that's what I'm most comfortable with but if you're into your plums and brights then you won't be disappointed either!
Price : £11.90 available HERE
Finish : Can dry to a semi-matte finish but it reminds me of Mac Creamsheen formulas for the way it feels on my lips.
Lasting Power : 6 hours - and in that time I went out at a birthday party with friends and had drinks and snacks and at the early hours of the morning I could still see a nice shade on my lips. I would recommend using a lip liner as a base just to help out in case you're not into touching up.
The Formula : It's so moisturising! I prefer applying it with a lip brush to avoid using too much product.
My Opinion : I think this is a lovely lipstick - and in case you're wondering - no, I'm not saying that because it was sent. I like the shade, the consistency, the ingredients used and the result over all. I would suggest to be careful and definitely to not have this lip product in your bag on a hot day because it melts quite easily but fortunately we're entering autumn and winter now so that should be fine. I do think this brand deserves more exposure and I hope they get it even though some may be put off by the price since it's a little above "drugstore"standards. Thing is, they use raw plant materials and their products are 100% free from synthetic perfumes, colourants and preservatives. There are plenty of fish in the sea as they say, but if you're in the market to check out a new brand this one should be definitely on the list!
