NEW! MAYBELLINE COLOR SHOW MONO SHADOWS

So the other week I was casually walking around Boots with nothing particularly important to buy, when I spotted a 3 for 2 deal on all Maybelline items! I obviously rushed to see if there was anything that caught my eye instantly and there they were... new releases. Probably the worst thing ever when you're on a budget and you're desperately trying to be good and not spend.

The new products consist of mono eyeshadows and lip crayons. For the lip crayons you'll have to wait next week for a detailed review but now let's focus on these fab eyeshadows!

Personally I'm not big on mono packaging mainly because if I travel a lot I want more things somewhere compact and in smaller number so palettes are my go-to thing. I couldn't pass the opportunity though when I spotted these gorgeous shades!

In case you didn't notice the actual packaging and the way the shadows look is different when you place them one next to the other. I'm not sure why they decided to be adventurous and release two different formulas at once but props to them. The main difference is that one looks a little cheaper from the outside than the other ( and it is in fact cheaper as a product ).

Shade - Lustrous Beige ( £ 5.49 )

 Dry / Wet swatches

Lustrous Beige reminds me a lot of Satin Taupe from Mac but juts a tad lighter.
This one applies well both wet and dry. I would say this particular shade is quite a
common one that for some reason we all still gravitate to because it's wearable and
it's gorgeous no matter the time of the day or the event.

Pigmentation : 4/5
Blendability : 5/5

 Shade - Copper Fizz ( £ 4.99 )

Dry / Wet swatches

Copper Fizz is definitely a shade that stood out to me because it's perfect for this
time of the year. It's quite a transition from summer to autumn featuring some rose gold
tint to it that reminds me of autumn. (more rose than gold to be precise)
It's absolutely gorgeous to rock on the lid or just inner corners.
I highly recommend using this wet because when dry it takes a few layers to show.

Pigmentation : 4/5*
(use wet!)
Blendability : 4/5

I do like these shades a lot but I don't think they're a necessity by any means. I'm sure that if you have palettes you might have similar colours. If you're in the market for one of those I would recommend Copper Fizz mainly because it is an interesting colour to work with.

If you're nosey you can watch my latest video where I talk about all the super new Maybelline releases :

So, any thoughts? Do you have your eye on anything mentioned?

  8. They do both look lovely shades, but I have to agree that palettes are better for travelling and creating shadow/effect etc. Loved your video on these too!
