Ladiessss! The day I post this should be my post- 21st birthday so while you're reading this I will be hanging in bed recovering from cake n' sweets overdose! Obviously there was no better way of representing my "new" and older self than reviewing a new palette - duh. We know by now that I have an addiction.
The palette in question is affordable, pigmented and perfect for this time of the year - it's a Superdrug collaboration with Sleek to celebrate 50 years. After all it is considered a special place the one you go to every week to surround yourself with beautiful new makeup and test new products, so I couldn't really pass the celebration vibe and not get this new release. Being a lover of Sleek palettes I HAD to get my hands on it even though I blogged about another limited edition palette from this brand not long ago. (Arabian Nights Palette )
What is it with brands releasing 2+ palettes every month lately? I can't keep track of what's happening around me and neither can my bank account!
Here are some facts :
Number of eyeshadows : 12 (standard for their palettes)
Type : Limited Edition - better grab it now while you can!
Shades : I would say the colour selection is on the cool side featuring blues, greys and
shades that in general I wouldn't call warm at all.
Pigmentation : As with all Sleek palettes the pigmentation is great, particularly with shimmery shades. The matte shades are good too (especially for the affordable price you're getting them for!) They might need a little more work when it comes to blending but honestly they're worth it! The colours are all brand new so none of them have been featured before in any other palette and they're named after other popular i-Divine palettes. (how cool is that?! How many do you have in your collection?)
I do think they could have added an extra transition shade which seems to be lacking but overall the selection seems to be pretty good and varied.
Final Thoughts : I am quite happy with this purchase, Sleek never lets me down! If there was a brand in Superdrug that was able to deliver a killer product it would be them! I am excited to create some looks and have fun with it in the upcoming months. I think it's perfect for New Year's tutorials.
Have you checked out this new release?
What do you think of the swatches?
Let me know in the comments and I hope you're having a wonderful week so far!
