My week has been a little crazy so far and it's about to get even more insane since I'm meeting Lady Gaga on Saturday - yep, MENTAL! Anyway, I hope you're all doing well! I have been good and respecting my spending ban hence I digged up some gems that I realised really needed to be featured here because they're not hyped up enough.
When it comes to dark lip glosses I have always been on the fence because it depends on how well they stain or fade - main reason being: I don't walk around with a mirror in my hands to check myself every 4 minutes. Sleek however seems to have made something out of this world - quite literally- or maybe I'm just being dramatic, because this product went from being something I was even scared to try to something I carry in my purse and can't wait to use over and over. Why? Find out below...
Price : £ 4.99
Shade : Phoenix Rising* / n25
The Product : Maximum shine in one application. That's everything you need to know in one sentence. The selection of shades goes from neutrals to darks and it's worth noting that in the packaging you can see some glitter. This however does not transfer on the lips so you won't see or feel any particles. I think it's important to tell you this so that some of you don't get put off for no reason.
The Texture : It's on the sticky side but not old-school sticky. It's that level that ensures longevity and avoids bleeding.
The Longevity : For being a gloss, I am quite happy with it. It lasts about 2-3 hours on me and stains well when you're eating, leaving your lips looking matte, 'plummy' and natural.
Final Thoughts : I am obsessed with this new treasure. The applicator makes it so easy for me to bring this on-the-go and apply it whenever and wherever I want. I think it's a great shade for autumn and winter but it's not excessively "out there" hence it's good for people that feel a little weird wearing super dark lipsticks out and about. The glossy finish makes your lips look fuller and overall more glam. I suggest using a lipliner if you want maximum resistance against bleeding or even a lip pencil underneath so that the gloss has something to grab onto. I think this is one of my top beauty discoveries this year! I am so pleased! Next time you're in Superdrug you should definitely check these out! I believe there's an offer on Sleek products at the moment so run out the door and grab yourself some bargains!
