I hope your week has had a lovely weekend! Before writing this post I was asking myself "what brand deserves more hype?" and Sleek came to mind. For some reason I can't really explain, I tend to just walk past their little stand in Superdrug whenever I am looking for lipsticks. I know their palettes are great. I know their face contour kit is great. Why do I just not branch out a little? Am I the only one that gets used to purchasing a certain types of product for each brand? I don't know why as a blogger I still skip and play "safe". I really need to change that.
I was sent these Sleek True Colour lipsticks* in the post a few weeks ago and I am so grateful for that because now I have something new in my stash which is too full of Rimmel, Maybelline and Mac. I am completely sold on them so I want to try and see if any of you girls will want to go and swatch them next time you're out and about looking for new makeup.
Packaging : The packaging is (surprise, surprise) very sleek, simple and handy. I like the velvety/gummy texture that makes it feel Nars-like hence more expensive. They're very purse-friendly and practical which is nice if you're using a dark shade and you need to carry it around to touch-up.
Price : £4.99
The Finish : Very creamy. Definitely moisturising (and they contain vitamin E to protect your lips!) It doesn't matter if you choose a more matte finish, you're still not going to get a drying effect.
The Longevity : I would say a good 4 hours for sure, a little more with darker shades because they do stain your lips. It fades fairly homogeneously so it is pretty nice since you won't end up looking like a 5 year old did your makeup.
Final Thoughts : I really do believe these lipsticks need more hype. I know probably most of you walk past the sleek stand like I did until very recently but it is worth to try these gems. You won't be disappointed. I also reviewed their glosses if you were curious.
