Bio-Oil > IS IT WORTH THE HYPE?

Hello lovelies!
I hope your start of the week has been great. I'm handing in 2 assignments today but other than that life has been pretty standard. I wanted to talk about the product that made me fangirl quite a bit the last month because it helped not only me but 2 other members of my family.

I have heard great things about this oil to start with since apparently celebrities like Kim Kardashians and Gwyneth Paltrow use it quite often. I wasn't too sure if it was just a commercial thing or if it actually worked. I spotted it in Superdrug many times and for the price of £8.99 I thought it claimed to do some pretty awesome stuff.

I was contacted to test this but - talk about odd coincidence - the day after accepting the sample my mother had a burn injury. She basically almost burnt her face by dealing with some lighting at the hotel where she works at. The boss gifted her this oil and she started using it immediately. I wish I could have taken photos to show you, but honestly when stuff like that happens and it's serious and you're scared, photographs are the last thing in your mind. Long story short, it healed her scars. She used it in the morning and at night and it got rid of any sing of the accident in a couple of weeks. There was no redness nor weird texture. Obviously the damage wasn't really bad to begin with - than goodness - but it was still visible! She was more than impressed.

My nan had a similar accident cooking the Christmas dinner and when my mother and I suggested the oil she tried it immediately and literally after a few days she randomly came up to me and said "this is the best thing I've ever tried!". The scar from the oven accident basically vanished.

As for me, I've been using this gem for stretch marks and other skin related issues like acne scars and hyper pigmentation especially around my cheeks . In this case you have to be a more consistent and it can be a little off-putting placing oil on my already oily skin but the results did come and I couldn't be more pleased!

I don't usually write reviews in this style but this product deserved something different because it is really a saviour! I have never seen so many people close to me rave about the same thing and I couldn't recommend it enough to all of you!

FINAL SCORE: 1O+/1O

  4. i heard mixed reviews about this due to the content of mineral oil, but it sounds like it works great for your whole family! I had a bad burn on my hand and used a La Roche Posay cream that healed it completely. maybe I'll try this for stretch marks indeed!

  8. I've recently started using bio oil again as I read on another blog that you can use small amounts of it under your eyes to reduce dark circles. I've only just started using it this way for the last 2 days but I've already noticed a small difference

  13. I used BioOil twice a day throughout my first pregnancy and came out the other end without stretch marks. I think there's a certain amount of genetics involved but I'm pregnant again and not leaving it to chance! :)

  20. I love using oils in my skincare routine but I don't really feel like I'd have any use for this unless I burnt myself or something like that! It's great that it worked so well for you and your family though :)

  25. I have to agree, this is a fab product! A fair few years ago I had an accident on an escalator, my ankles were severely scared for several years and then I started to use this and it did such a fabulous job at clearing the scars up and now you can't even see them (unless you're at my ankles looking super close!) lol x
