The BEST clarifying clay mask ever?! ft. SkinCeuticals

Skincare has definitely been a 2015 thing for me. I came to understand that makeup is just the addition, the base must be good though - or as good as you can get it to be. I can't say I have seen a perfect skin day since before I hit puberty but now that I'm in my early twenties it's certainly nice to see some improvement - if we exclude this incident.

I have certainly not been a face mask virgin as you all know now; I do love to lounge in my pjs, slap on some nice-smelling magical formula and watch Gossip Girl or Orange is The New Black (my newest Netflix obsessions). I also do like to expand my horizons and see what else is out there and you know, to mix high-end and affordable brands.  I did however bite my lip when it came to the SkinCeuticals Clarifying Clay Masque if I have to be honest because of the high price (£53!). I loved this product so much that I just hoped my readers were not going to think I'm insane for testing out things that are definitely over budget for some (or shall I say most) people.

In case you're new around here you may not know that I do have some oh so lovely pores in my t-zone especially the tip of my nose. I apply some primer to cover up and smooth the surface before putting foundation on but, like I said, I do want to try and create the best canvas possible.

If you have clogged pores then you know how nasty it feels not to mention the fact that it's not the most appealing thing to look at. I don't have a massive problem with it because as you can imagine I test many things that help me out with this issue but it's worth saying that nothing has ever helped me as quickly and effectively as this Clarifying Clay Masque.

You place a thin layer on your face after cleansing your skin and leave it on for about 10 minutes, like most clay masks, however It does not dry hard, unlike others I have tried on the market. After washing it off you'll instantly notice how calmer and less red your skin looks and how clean it feels. No excess oil, less blackheads, pores visibly reduced and over all just really good and soft baby-bottom skin. This product helped me with breakouts as well and I have been just really freakin impressed.

I totally get people going "hell naww" when looking at the price, but as with most good products, you need a really small amount. I have been using mine for a couple of months now and as you can see in the top photo I barely made a dent. This stuff is gonna last me AGES and it's better to invest when it comes to skin since it will thank you later.

FINAL SCORE: 1O/1O

  15. 10 out of 10... I think I must give this one a whirl. I love Skinceuticals (their retinol serum is superb). I am not usually a fan of clay masks though, but I have been learning to love them lately!
