Last weekend I had the pleasure of being invited to attend BeautyCon London and I couldn't wait to get home and have some free time to tell you everything about the experience. I know many didn't manage to come but I'm sure they'll do one next year so don't panic!
The event was held at Olympia and it's basically a chance to meet your favourite bloggers and youtubers plus attend interesting pannels and get makeovers. Knowing this, I did my makeup really lightly and didn't paint my nails so that I could enjoy a nice beauty session whilst having a chat with different brands.
It was busy, and I mean PACKED, especially at the beginning. There were different Meet & Greet areas with one or two youtubers per section. Of course, I waited in line to meet Essie Button, Amelia Liana and HeyClaire and managed to get pics with them! (if you don't know them, I highly recommend you to check these chicks out, their blogs are stunning).
Unfortunately some meet-ups were clashing with certain panels so you had to pick and choose which people you wanted to see most. I knew I wasn't able to stay until the end to meet Anna and Lily so, for example, I skipped meeting CarlyBybel (sorry girrrrl), to see my two favourite british gals at their panel.
Some of the chats I watched are "Business of Beauty", "#GirlProbs" and "Beautiful Inside + Out" which really were all a mix of tips on confidence, life advice, career advice and more. It was fun to find out little extra facts on different people and just see these familiar faces off the laptop screen and in person because THEY ACTUALLY EXIST! I may be the only one with this problem, but unless I actually SEE a youtuber or a blogger, to me it's like they're mystical creatures.
Some of the brands that were there to beautify us all are Benefit Cosmetics, Ogx, Nyx, Crown Brushes (where people were fighting over their eye blending brushes like there was no tomorrow), Eyelure and Liz Earle. There was also a company called PRIV which was doing manis, blow-dries and makeup to promote their app that makes you find a series of beauty services in your desired location. I definitely recommend you to check it out since it's a cool app any beauty lover would find useful. Of course I couldn't say no and I decided to get my nails and makeup done. Purple was their colour (and my favourite shade anyway) so I sported a nice violet smoky eye and nail polish.
I also spotted a few less talked about bloggers around the different stands and attended a live Q&A with HelloOctober and ICovetThee which was lovely. Oh, for who wondered about food, there were sandwiches and hot dogs! Of course I had to mention this because all my foodies out there don't need to panic! You wouldn't have starved to death.
The word I would use to describe this event is: inspiring, especially for smaller bloggers like me who hope to one day get to these higher levels. The incredible support these content creators get is amazing and the whole venue was filled with love, laughs and some tears from people who finally got their selfies with their favourites. Not gonna lie, I had teary eyes myself because I'm a fangirl like that.
I can't wait for next year's event!
I hope you found this little summary useful and below you'll find just a few photos I took during beautycon. I wish I could post more but I didn't want to get carried away and incorporate 30 pictures in one post.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Did you attend this event? Will you go next time?
