Well, this is new. I have been a lipstick fan for YEARS and my draws are overflowing with a massive selection of neutrals and nudes. Lip-glosses? Not so much - and I know that's the case since the "Other Lip Products" draw is filled mainly with liners or crayons.
With 2015 though I decided to go a little out there and experiment. The beauty industry is filled with some amazing products that it would be a shame to stick to one thing just because I'm used to it. Rimmel has recently released these new glosses and as always I got quite intrigued after watching the ad on tv so I ran to Boots the other day and got three (thanks to the 3 for 2 deal currently on - it's unmissable).
With 15 shades to choose from there's something for everyone! I went for some spring/summer colours that were bright but not bold since with glosses things can get messy sometimes, or so I thought. These bad boys are a little on the sticky side so they do quite literally stick to your lips for quite a while. I personally do prefer when I can barely feel a gloss and when they're on the moisturising side, however I didn't mind the effect (called "Gloss Lock") in this particular instance since they did resist a little longer, like they claim.
Interestingly enough the gloss contains Argan Oil and Vitamin E, which is always a plus in my cards. They didn't have a particularly strong or unpleasant smell, but maybe you shouldn't trust me on that one since I had a cold recently which did make identifying scents a little hard.
The shades I picked are: Purrr...Glossy Cat, Stay My Rose and Glossip Girl - the last one for obvious reasons. My lips are quite pigmented so from my personal point of view they came out quite sheer. You can see a slight difference when looking at the swatches below but you can hardly tell them apart instantly. The tubes can be a little misleading since you'd expect them to be higher in pigmentation, however this fact makes them extremely wearable and the perfect weapons to throw in a bag and carry with you anywhere.
Would I recommend people to check these out? Yes!
I know I may not sound super enthusiastic about them, but that's mainly because I think that they're not ground-breakingly awesome. OVERALL though, they are quite good and they would be a nice addition to anyone's collection. Go swatch them out when you can and let me know what you think!
