NEW: OH MY GLOSS! Lipglosses by Rimmel x Rita Ora {REVIEW + SWATCHES}

Well, this is new. I have been a lipstick fan for YEARS and my draws are overflowing with a massive selection of neutrals and nudes. Lip-glosses? Not so much - and I know that's the case since the "Other Lip Products" draw is filled mainly with liners or crayons.

With 2015 though I decided to go a little out there and experiment. The beauty industry is filled with some amazing products that it would be a shame to stick to one thing just because I'm used to it. Rimmel has recently released these new glosses and as always I got quite intrigued after watching the ad on tv so I ran to Boots the other day and got three (thanks to the 3 for 2 deal currently on - it's unmissable).

With 15 shades to choose from there's something for everyone! I went for some spring/summer colours that were bright but not bold since with glosses things can get messy sometimes, or so I thought. These bad boys are a little on the sticky side so they do quite literally stick to your lips for quite a while. I personally do prefer when I can barely feel a gloss and when they're on the moisturising side, however I didn't mind the effect (called "Gloss Lock") in this particular instance since they did resist a little longer, like they claim.

Interestingly enough the gloss contains Argan Oil and Vitamin E, which is always a plus in my cards. They didn't have a particularly strong or unpleasant smell, but maybe you shouldn't trust me on that one since I had a cold recently which did make identifying scents a little hard.

The shades I picked are: Purrr...Glossy Cat, Stay My Rose and Glossip Girl - the last one for obvious reasons. My lips are quite pigmented so from my personal point of view they came out quite sheer. You can see a slight difference when looking at the swatches below but you can hardly tell them apart instantly. The tubes can be a little misleading since you'd expect them to be higher in pigmentation, however this fact makes them extremely wearable and the perfect weapons to throw in a bag and carry with you anywhere.

Would I recommend people to check these out? Yes!
I know I may not sound super enthusiastic about them, but that's mainly because I think that they're not ground-breakingly awesome. OVERALL though, they are quite good and they would be a nice addition to anyone's collection. Go swatch them out when you can and let me know what you think!

  1. Ooo.. the colours are pretty. I must admit I am not a huge gloss fan either.

  2. Not a massive gloss fan either but I'm trying to branch out more now that my lips are a bit drier. I think Glossip Girl is my favourite of the bunch! Thanks for sharing x

  3. They sound lovely, i love glosses in the summer x

  4. I don't like vibrant colour lipsticks that are too pigmented so these would suit me enormously. I'm always a littke afraid to go gloss too, but the shimmer here looks quite natural, just ramped up a tad with a delicate sparkle. Lovely. Tx

  5. I'm not much of a lipgloss either - mainly because I've had a few bad experiences with many lipglosses, I can be put off! However, I've recently got 2 new(ish) ones and I quite like them! These lipglosses don't look like they're Rimmel ones, the packaging is different. I have seen these all over Twitter lately, and everyone seems to rate them highly! x

  6. I'm not usually too keen on lipgloss either, it's just a bit too sticky and I do love a matte lip.

  8. I'm not normally a massive lip gloss fan due to the sticky-ness but like you have promised I will experiment a bit more so may pick up ones of these pay day!

  9. I can see what you mean about them not being ground breaking, they do sound and look like most other glosses on the market I guess the only difference is the argan oil, everything has to have argan oil in it nowadays! lol x

  10. I am not a fan of lip gloss and it is always something I never ever buy x

  11. All 3 look gorgeous shades and perfect to wear every day x

  12. They look like nice every day shades, I have to say I'd prefer them to be a bit more pigmented though xx
