ONE PRODUCT, FIVE USES ft. VITA COCO COCONUT OIL

There's nothing better than having a product that does more than just one thing. You'll definitely find me ravaging in the kitchen looking for natural things to use in my beauty routine all the time because they're much cheaper and easier to get ahold of. Ain't nobody got time to spend £40 on an expensive serum if you're a student. I was pleased to receive a nice little sample of Vita Coco Coconut oil* in the post a few weeks back to remind me how much I actually love this stuff.

I knew of the benefits of coconut oil because I have been using it for YEARS on my hair but then I sat down and realised how many things I could ACTUALLY do with it. In case some of you never used this oil before or tried it and the whole hair thing didn't work for you, I though it would be cool for you to see where else and what else you can do.

- In the Kitchen (shocking, I know)
Yes, don't slap me. I know you're smart enough to know that you can use it as part of your diet but hey, some people find it weird. Most of my friends cringed when I told them I use it for sautéing and baking since I'm a little against butter. I also used it as base for jams and stuff I spread on my toast bread in the morning - literally substituting butter completely. No, it does not smell weird and yes, you should really give it a go. It's so much healthier and it will change your life!

- On the Face
Masks? Creams? This does it all - from an all over intense moisturising mask for thirty skin to a light addition for when you're needing a little extra something against dry patches. I have been stressing out recently - especially since my laptop has been away for weeks and blogging became impossible. I had some stress rashes and my face just wasn't looking its best but this little secret weapon helped me out a lot. Oh, it's AMAZING on the lips too, in case they're dry or about to crack - which can be painful. I usually use it at night and by morning I'm fine. I read that you can use it as an under-eye cream and makeup remover too but it may be a little too thick for my linking however I shall give it a try next just to see if it works.

- With the Razor
If you're a hairy beast like me - and it can't get any worse since I'm Italian and our strong dark hair is definitely something we're known for, shaving is on the to-do list every other day. I usually don't stick to a particular shaving product but I have been going back to my Vita Coco oil multiple times to really leave my legs feeling smooth as I can get quite sensitive skin after shaving.

- As a Hair Treatment
Now, this has been mainly what I've been using coconut oil for. I usually leave it in my hair as a conditioner for 5 minutes whilst I'm showering to hydrate and get rid of any frizz but I also use it more sparingly before taking out the big guns aka hair straightener/curlers. I find that it really protects my hair and not to mention the fact that it makes it smell divine!

- As a Nail Strengthener/ Cuticle Softener
Again, a secret weapon you can use just before bed. Coconut oil can really help with the growth of healthy nails. It has been the only thing I use lately because it works and given all its amazing proprieties I just spread it around my entire hand to really get the full hydrating effect.

You can get your hands on this jar online on their site, Amazon or even Boots for as little as £5.50.

Have you been using coconut oil in your beauty regime?

xoxo
