The thought of having a white lipstick never really crossed my mind since with my olive complexion I can barely pull off most light shades HOWEVER, when I was told that the idea was for it to magically transformed my darker lipsticks, I do admit I was intrigued.
Did I think it was actually going to work? Nah. At first I looked at it and imagined it was all going to be a little messy and funny but nothing prepared me for the shock I was about to get.
Basically all I had to do is apply the white lipstick first, and then on top just layer any shade I wanted. I chose to go for a dark plum colour since we're getting into Autumn now and I'm bringing out the big guns. When I just as much as applied one light stroke of my dark lipstick on top of my very white lips, BOOM! This unicorn-like lilac colour popped up. I'm not going to lie, my first words were exactly "what the....?" - you can complete the rest. I ran to the kitchen to show my mum the results and took the photos below.
I did imagine it was going to get lighter of course but nothing gave me a hint that my gorgeous plum colour was going to evolve into something Nicki Minaj would wear - which by the way I love but I'm never brave enough to wear myself.
Every lipstick and every finish looks different - my favourite so far has been the transformations of my dark reds which leads to a wearable warm coral. You also don't need to apply it all over; I dab just a tad in the centre of my lips before applying any lipstick to take my lip game from basic to top quality! (coming from a chick that doesn't have big Kylie Jenner lips)
It's worth mentioning that the best way to apply this would be with a lip brush and before hand you should definitely use an invisible lip liner to avoid any bleeding at the edges as you can see in my photos below *bad beauty blogger*. The white lipstick has actually a satin finish look so it's easy to apply anything on top.
For only £9 I do believe that the Colour Switch by Kiss Cosmetics* is definitely worth the hype and if you enjoy playing with lip products and you're not afraid of experimenting, go for it! It's hands down one of the most interesting things in my collection now and a must-have for women who love to play with ombre lips.
Have you ever tried something like this before?
Ps - This little gem is so great that it got shortlisted in the Pure Beauty Awards for Best New Colour Product which is pretty impressive! (You can vote for it here)
