I thought I would take a small break from my Summer > Autumn series that I've been posting lately to bring you a little review of the newest makeup launch from a great Girl Boss in the Vlogosphere.
I must confess first though - I have never purchased anything from any other blogger/vlogger before. I know there's a number of other gals who released their own makeup or beauty lines recently, but for some reason I never got intrigued enough to check the others out. Fleur however has been one of my favourite vloggers for a long time (YEARS!) and I respect her a lot because she uploads every week and her content is always great.
Now, enough of the chit chat and let's get down to business, which is why most of you are probably here for. Her makeup line is sold on FeelUnique, where I've actually had always a great experience shopping at so I was pleased from the start. I decided to purchase one of the eyeshadow quads and two of the lip glosses.
The products have her name on them and some stars around it - if you follow her she is known for loving stars (I feel like a creeper for knowing this and the fact that she has stars tattooed on her foot). Everything is pretty affordable from the range which makes it easier for teenagers and people who generally don't feel like splurging on makeup to purchase her line and test it out.
The eyeshadow quad I went for is called Lunar Rose (£7.99) which features purple/rose gold tones. I avoided the more popular pick because hands down I must own like twenty neutral quads already (don't tell my mum). The quality of the shadows is surprisingly really good - they're so soft and buttery. I found them really easy to blend and create looks with.
Lip glosses are one beauty item I have a love/hate relationship with. They have to be really good for me to keep them and wear them, hence my little drawer dedicated to them is rather empty.
I picked the shades Little Star (a barbie pink) and Written in the Stars (a mauve) - both priced £6.99 - in Fleur's range because the colours looked really natural and appealing. I never go for dark or vampy numbers since I know that things can get messy unless it's a product with a matte finish. I'm however really pleased to report that these glosses are AMAZING, way better than the Rimmel ones I reviewed a while back, which I would suggest to people who don't like overly pigmented lip products. Personally I like some colour to show up and these are opaque with one swipe, the colours are true to the bullet, the application is easy and the staying power is impressive. I wore Little Star at London Fashion Weekend and it stayed on SO well, making my lips look healthy and plumped.
Overall I'm really pleased with the range and I think the quality is better than some drugstore brands I tried in the past. I'm really happy with my purchases and I WILL be wearing these glosses during autumn and winter.
Below you'll see swatches of the products and close ups. Let me know your thoughts in the comments and thanks to anyone who voted for me in the Cosmo Blog Awards or who wished me Happy Birthday on social media this week. You guys are amazing.
