NEW IN: ESTEE LAUDER DOUBLE WEAR MAKEUP TO GO Foundation
Just a few weeks ago I featured the one and original Double Wear on my blog, talking you through why I love that foundation so much. What I didn't say is that on the same day I bought a back-up of my holy grail, I also picked up this new release from the same brand because.. it was just tempting. Does anyone else do this thing where they leave home to get one product and then come back with a full bag? How can you blame me though, a go-to version of the double wear? Hell yes.
Well, not so fast. I learnt soon enough that as much as it has "Double Wear"plastered all over the packaging and it's modelled by the gorgeous Kendall Jenner with flawless skin, the actual formula of this bad boy is a little lighter. Think it this way- a mid ground between their BB cream and their full coverage foundation that stays on all day. It was definitely a gap that they needed to fill. Sometimes you just want to wear something that has enough coverage but that isn't extremely glam and too full-on.
The foundation comes in a pretty thick compact which fortunately didn't really take up too much space in my bag. If you're used to carrying something like the MAC studio fix powders then this is the same thing. The way you apply it is by literally pressing down the base which pumps up enough product to use on your whole face. When I'm at home, I choose my beauty blender but on-the-go I settled with the sponge they provided and it did a good job. Before writing up this review I wanted to thoroughly test it whilst travelling, so I took it with me on holiday a few weeks ago and also to London for the Cosmo Blog Awards this past week.
Using the Nyx Pore Filling primer before application, I noticed that this creamy formula lasted extremely well on my combination skin without enhancing any dry patches. It did hide the redness around my nose but I could still see my actual skin, which is great because it makes you look more natural. I needed to double it up with a second layer wherever I had some hyper pigmentation, but aside from that, it felt really light and effortless. It lasted a good 7-8 hours on a busy day and it was easy to take on the go and touch up if needed. The sturdy and purse friendly packaging made it so much more convenient to carry compared to an actual glass bottle with no pump like the original version.
I bought my usual shade, Desert Beige, which is the most amazing match to my natural skin tone. I believe the colour selection is the same as for the full coverage sibling which makes it easier for who's already matched to just pick up the same shade. I am extremely pleased with this product and I think that they really created something that was missing from their counter. I'm actually surprised that not many bloggers are even talking about this foundation yet.
Have you tried it/heard of it?
