TOP 5 HONEY BASED BEAUTY PRODUCTS YOU MUST TRY
So I recently found out that this past week was "Honey Week" and whilst I was away on my little holiday (apologies for the 10 days disappearance), I actually realised that I have quite a few honey-based products in my collection.
When it comes to skincare, honey is actually really good for you; if you suffer from acne, it's great for treatment and prevention, it's also full of antioxidants therefore great for slowing down ageing. It is extremely moisturizing and soothing, so it helps create a glow to your skin.
After exploring my beauty section and finding A LOT of honey-based products, I decided to narrow it down to my top 5 for you.
BEE GOOD Vanilla & Honey Lipbalm - I found out about this brand through the various blogger events I attended these past couple of years. The balm is very nourishing, rich and it smells amazing. It's also not in a pot so it's great to take out on the go and apply it on your lips without having to use your fingers - especially when you take public transport.
LANOLIPS Golden Ointment - The product sent by the Gods. This multi-purpose ointment is everything you need and more to beat winter's dry skin. It works immediately and it soothes any itchiness. I used it on my boyfriend's incredibly dry hands last week and the difference even one application made was incredible. It gives very long-lasting comfort and it's not too greasy, which makes it great for a general daily use. It can be applied all over the body - I tend to use it on my elbows .
OUR TINY BEES Uber Balm - Neck, hands, feet, hair; just to name a few of the places I applied this little gem. The product that comes in this pot is rather semi-solid, meaning you gotta dig in with your nails to get some stuff out, but boy it is so worth it! Containing not just honey but also almond oil, coconut oil, rosehip seed oil and oat oil, it's absolutely fantastic. Like the Lanolips it helps soothe itchy skin, but I found it also works so well whenever I have a small rash or reaction to skincare products I may be testing. Apparently it's good for anyone who suffers with eczema or psoriasis too.
ELEMENTAL HERBOLOGY Vital Glow Overnight Resurfacing Cream* - The expensive number of the bunch but possibly the most amazing discovery for winter. This face cream is what I've been using in the evenings recently to help my skin stay glowy and looking plumped during the cold season. No one wants dull skin and everyone wants to protect it against harsh weather conditions. I tend to go light for the day, but at night I need a bomb to really help maintain my face looking young (not gonna stay 22 forever, Am I). Last year's winter moisturiser was SO good that I thought it would be nearly impossible to top it, but I was mistaken. Vital Glow repairs skin over night and I saw a dramatic improvement of my texture and appearance since I added this cream to my routine. If you like to invest then definitely add this to your basket next time.
HUMBLE Bath Honey - Luxurious pampering at its finest, this jar of goodness is perfect for when you just want to relax, turn off any technology and enjoy some well deserved "me-time" to recharge. The product is very runny, which I think it's worth noting, so when you pour it in the bath be careful because before you know it you may have used half of it already. I do however really love the scent, the subtle bubbles and the way it makes my skin feel really soft. All the products from Humble are non-polluting, biodegradable, recyclable and there are no nasty chemicals or hidden ingredients. Thanks to the way it looks, I think this could be also a great gift for a friend this Christmas.
I'd love to know what honey-based products you love and if you tested any of the ones I mentioned.
I also want to thank anyone who voted for me in the Cosmo Blog Awards this year. Your support means the world to me.
