Six days into 2016 and up until last night I couldn't decide what to publish as my first official post of the year. I felt kind of pressured to put out something amazing after my UK Blog Awards shortlist announcement the other day. Honestly, life has resumed as normal and so do my beauty posts.
I did want to talk about something that I really love though, because it's worth starting with a positive note. This product is now in what trendy bloggers call "Holy Grail" list, because after years of trying eye creams without seeing any damn results, this little guy just blew me away.
I was shopping for Christmas presents back in November and I did the "one for you and one for me" thing where I ended up getting two things from the Estee Lauder counter. Just before leaving I remembered that I was out of my previous eye cream (that wasn't that amazing and that will probably end up in a future Disappointing Products post) so I asked the sales woman what she suggested for someone my age.
As a 22 year old I don't really have major wrinkles but fine lines do appear after long hours typing essays or browsing the latest Zara items. Dark circles are also a common little feature now due to stress and just lack of sleep.
She presented me with a couple of options, one of them being the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum (yep, it's not even an eye cream) that is light and can be applied around the whole eye area. It's a gel-like consistency and it is really easily absorbed by the skin giving it also a splash of freshness.
After three days of using it the lines, the darkness and the puffiness disappeared. I honestly can't describe you the feeling of actually SEEING results after such a short amount of time. The product can be used by anyone, at any age. My mother has been using mine (ahem stealing it) for a couple of weeks and finally yesterday she admitted it by gushing over how good this serum was. That also explained why I was going through it so quickly.
I use this during the day as well, especially if I'm up early after a long night because it acts well as a primer underneath foundation. Obviously since it's a serum, it helps trap hydration even more so the best way to use it is to layer it under any eye cream in your stash.
To be honest, this works so well alone that for now I'll keep using it as my only weapon of choice against my not so Chanel under-eye bags.
Do you have an eye cream that really works for you? I'd love to know!
