Winter-Proof Your Skin

So I've gone back to university this week and it has been hard re-adjusting myself to a morning schedule and the madness that is the final year. I have to set my alarm for half 5 most days and being not much of a morning person has made me damn lazy with my beauty routine. Monday to Wednesday I'm bare faced and the only thing you'll see me put on is one, or a few products, to protect my skin from the harsh wind and the general brutal weather.

My complexion is far from perfect so I like to test new products fairly often to see what helps me out. These are four little gems that I found to be nice stand-outs from the pile I have accumulated in the past few months.

Jurlique has been a brand I discovered the second half of last year so I was quite intrigued to try more  from them. As you may know, I suffer from redness on my cheeks and the intensity tends to get worse and more visible in winter due to the cold so this Calming Mist seemed right up my street. On mornings when I really can't be bothered to do anything special, I just spray this in an X and T motion on my face to wake me up a little but also to create a barrier to combat the weather.

The Bioderma Hydrabio Serum has been my most recent love hence it wasn't featured in my Skin Saving Serums post a while back. As I'm still young (only 22 years old), I mainly look for something that will help me hydrate my skin and plump it. After using this product for five days I noticed a visible difference, especially on my forehead where I tend to get fine lines more often than the rest of my face. The texture is light and it absorbs quickly which makes it perfect for people with oily complexions because it doesn't grease you up.

The Puriskin Resurfacing Cream is specially made to improve the appearance of damaged skin and boost the function of impaired areas; from scarring (acne scars/surgery scars or keloids) to ingrown hairs, uneven skin tone or texture (mainly my problem), stretchmarks and razor bumps. I think that this is the kind of product you want to be carrying with you all the time, not just in winter. I use it on my face and on my hands as well when things start getting really dry and I need a quick fix. I absolutely love it!

MERUMAYA Everything Everywhere Beauty Oil* is a carefully crafted balance of emollient, active and youth-enhancing oils that soothes, hydrates, enhances radiance and elasticity. As you may have guessed by the name, it can be used literally everywhere. I love it for scalp, hair, cuticles, face and body because of the non-greasy formula. I mainly use it on my scalp because I suffer from dryness and mild psoriasis so it helps me deal with that in a subtle and gentle way without irritating my skin even more. An all-rounder multi-use bomb that is perfect for the current weather.

I'd love to know what you've been using on your skin to keep it sane this winter so please let me know in the comments or tweet me

  5. I absolutely love Puriskin, it helped even out my skin so much when it was terrible (for me) last year. Definitely a staple in any beauty bag tbh. The others I am very intrigued to try!

  17. I love the sound of the Bioderma Serum and the Puriskin Resurfacing Cream! I've been trying to write a Winter skincare post but I keep changing my mind about the products I'm using.

I really didn't like the Bioderma micellar water, so I ignored the rest of the brand until recently. I've started using the Sebium Pore Refiner and it's working well on my oily skin.
