Alright, don't roll your eyes if you're single. I always celebrated Valentine's day by gifting myself a little something if I had no man in my life. Now I'm lucky enough to have found a great partner, so the past few V-Days I have been showered with cute little gifts. It's still important to remember though, that it's not a day to celebrate being with someone, rather than a day to celebrate love, wether it be loving yourself or someone else. I'm soppy like that. So take your best mate out, give her something or if you're here trying to get inspired for a girlfriend or yourself then sit back, relax and check out some of my ever so traditional gifts to get on this special day.
Valentine's day is not all about flowers and chocolates. A great book can really make a difference. The selection out there is huge but if she's into makeup or fashion, these gorgeous picks I got from Amara will not only be great to read but also to display on coffee tables and shelves. They're quite aesthetically pleasing and full of informations.
- Pretty Powerful by Bobbi Brown contains beautiful photography of inspirational women with thought provoking commentary on their attitudes to life.
- Paris Street Style, A Guide To Effortless Chic by Isabelle Thomas and Fredrique Veysset is full of striking pictures of beautiful French women exhibiting their own brand of Parisian style. It's great for outfit inspos.
Watches can make a nice timeless statement forever. People love Daniel Wellington for a reason and I totally get why but I thought I'd introduce you to a brand I have been loving since last year - Ice Watches! They're a little more sporty but the design is very sleek and chic. There's a huge variety of colours so you can pick the one that best suits the person you're thinking of. White and gold is my thing because I like my boring neutrals.
Of course I had to include sunglasses. I'm obsessed with them!
I've been recently sent this stunning pair by Firmoo and they're seriously making my outfit game look so much stronger when I wear them on days off strolling around town. They look expensive as well, which is a huge plus. You can get a nice variety of styles making them a great and different gift. I mean, who doesn't like sunglasses?!
Some lingerie was a must in my gift guide because you can never go wrong with it. If you don't have a tight budget, Fleur Of England is breathtaking. Their designs are sexy but comfortable. They feel extremely luxurious and they'll make whoever wears their pieces feel like a proper attractive woman. I won this gorgeous set a while back and since then I've been eyeing another one because nothing beats the feeling I get when I wear this brand. It's seriously next level.
If you want a budget alternative then Accessorize is a great option because you get some extremely cute designs, for a fraction of the price. I found the quality to be amazing anyway - and let's face it, you're less paranoid about ruining a bra in the wash that is only £14 rather than one that cost you £90. It's also a perfect first taste for people who are just dipping their toes in the whole simple lace bralette trend we see on Instagram a lot lately. Not gonna lie, I want more of them just to up my flatlay-game. (blogger problems..)
Nothing quite like a cleansing hand wash and moisturiser or a gorgeous set of candles that smell sweet and fruity but also come in stunning and feminine packaging. Baylis & Harding are one of my go-to brands when it comes to gifting, because they never fail to deliver. This limited edition collection is perfect for Valentine's Day and you can get it from Amazon, which can deliver it next day. This is for the real last-minute shoppers out there!
Another candle that I had to mention on here (I'm a little addicted to them) is this flawless number by Charles Farris. This is perfection because without even lighting it, it spreads this amazing jasmine scent around the room. It truly makes me feel like I'm in a garden, somewhere far, far away from rainy old UK. The packaging it not too girly, in case some people don't like over-the top pink/flowery accents around the room. James likes this candle too, so it may be a neutral double win for both.
Of course I couldn't miss this stunning palette by Too Faced. The Chocolate Bon Bons that you can also win on my current giveaway here, has the most awesome packaging and it smells of chocolate. You can't top that. If you're not convinced that it's worth the price tag, check out my review.
On the other scale of things, this little perfume roller by Victoria Secret is only £10 at the moment and it would make a perfect gift if she's into sexy but light scents. It's also super handy to carry around with you all day.
I had to feature this gorgeous cuff from the Oasis collection at Valentina. I'm not usually into colourful and bright things, but with bracelets I have a soft spot. These look so much like the classic Pandora charms but they come at a fraction of the price! I personally like the fact that mine is a cuff, but the brand sells bracelets and bangles as well. I think that there's a style for everyone out there since when I was picking mine, my friend eyed a different gem for herself. She ended up purchasing it later on, and since we're completely different when it comes to taste in jewellery, I found that to be a huge thing.
I also found this gorgeous sterling silver bracelet by Jon Richard's Simply Silver collection to be such a dainty yet stunning everyday addition. I started investing more into my jewellery because quality pieces last years! This number here is only £24 so it doesn't really break the bank but it will be part of your collection for a very long time. The double heart detail is perfect for Valentine's Day or Anniversaries.
I hope you found this gift guide somewhat helpful. What do you like to gift/receive if you celebrate Valentine's Day and do you have any plans this year? I'd love to know so leave me a comment.
