A few weeks ago I received an email with the subject "Cocktails with Leona Lewis". I thought it was a cheeky way to get my attention, but when I found out I was actually invited to celebrate her brand ambassadorship with Kiss and imPRESS I couldn't say No. She's a very talented and equally stunning human.
The event was held at the Haymarket Hotel, that has to be one of the most stunning hotels I've visited. The party was downstairs by the pool, which for me made it that much more interesting and classy. Candles, flowers and cocktails certainly made it look cosy and friendly whilst keeping up that level of luxe and premium feel.
We arrived at half six before the party even started (can you tell we're obviously the cool kids) and whilst we waited for Leona to arrive at eight, I decided to try the brands.
There were tables scattered around the edge of the pool, where you could get your manicure or your lash-application. There were sofas as well and endless amounts of champagne. I may have gotten a little tipsy by the end of the night.
First stop - the lashes.
I already had mascara on and naturally my thick lashes made me become one of those women who never really wear falsies. I was a little dubious as to how I'd look wearing them but my goodness, the little extra thickness made a huge difference. I shall be reviewing the samples given to me soon for you all, so keep your eyes peeled. All I can say so far is - I'm pleasantly surprised. They're light, easy to wear and they don't actually look fake!
I'm yet to try the ones I got from imPRESS but I'm excited to let you know how that goes.
LL was wearing a gorgeous black jumpsuit and some super high strappy heels. I wish I had the chance to take a photo with her but I gave James my camera and he forgot to turn it off so by the end of the night the battery died. Blame him.
Anyway, this was hands down one of the best events I have attended so far and I'm so grateful for all the invites I get. I hope you guys enjoyed the post and got a nice look at what launch events are like. Let me know if you've ever been to one before.
|Eyelash application - easy on others but not so much on yourself. (Words of the woman who put these falsies on me. Amen!)|
