Valentine's Day / February Makeup Menu
Valentine's day is here and I actually can't believe that we're halfway through February already. Where is the time going?
James and I are going to eat. Loads, as in every date night we do almost every week. We don't really over-celebrate this day because it is a little too commercialised but it's still nice to hang out, spend time together and have a nice laugh with no laptops/mobiles around to distract us. Bit of a traditional date night really, nothing too fancy.
You know what we're really excited about though? The Walking Dead! Can't actually wait for the new episodes tomorrow.
Anyway, I saw many people do these V-Day makeup day type posts and I wanted to put mine up as well since I like reading them. Let's be honest - it's not like boys actually care about what eyeshadow or blusher you wear, but it's still nice to play with my beauty stash and look pretty. This is what I usually wear on my face and no red lip on a date because it gets too messy!
Miss Sporty Insta Glow Primer - I love this base. It's one of the most recent affordable gems I found and it gives a gorgeous subtle glow underneath my foundation. I apply a small amount around my nose, cheeks and forehead to also create a smooth canvas. It works really well and I'm impressed with it.
Dior Forever Foundation - Reviewed in depth here - is the bomb. It's long lasting, it looks natural on the skin, the shade match is perfect. I mean, there's nothing bad about this foundation. I apply it with a sponge and I know it's going to look good even after ten hours!
Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer - This has been my most used concealer for the past few months. It's light and gives a very subtle glow. The colour Ivory is perfect for me and I don't even need to set this because it lasts well on its own. It's an absolute bargain!
Miss Sporty INSTA Glow Blusher and Bronzer - I'm all about that budget badass product and Miss Sporty has truly been killing it. The blush is nice and pigmented but not too over the top so you can apply it and not go from one to clown in a swipe. The bronzer warms up my complexion but it's not too orange. I adore it.
Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette - Reviewed in depth here - Let's be real, it wouldn't be V-Day if i didn't include some cheesy little heart packing somewhere! This palette has been so loved recently and from the pigmented shadows to the smell of chocolate it quickly became one my all time favourites.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara + Number 7 Velvet Lash - I like a little bit of mix and match when it comes to mascaras. N7 gives me nice length and reasonable volume but paired with some Too Faced my lashes look like falsies. I love the end result!
Elizabeth Arden lip liner in Bare - Forget the red. It's all about the nude lipliner. It's long lasting and it doesn't require nearly as much attention and care as a bright coloured lipstick. EA products are so under rated. I highly recommend you check them out next time you're near one of their counters.
Thought I'd also mention a really cute set of nails from Elegant Touch. This limited edition pack called Sweetheart is so adorable. The nails stay on nicely and they look real! I'm not a talented person when it comes to nail art so if you want an easy and quick fix to add a touch of detail to your look, these nails are the bomb! Will be reviewing them more in depth soon.
What do you wear on date night then? I'd love to know.
