5 HAIR HEROES

Ever since I cut my hair into a bob, I've been having more fun styling it and taking care of it since it's not long and heavy. It would take me ages to dry it before and now in 2 minutes I'm done. I'm thinking of doing a post on going from super long to a pretty short hair cut in the near future so keep your eyes peeled for that but today it's all about the hair products I have been loving and using over and over again. They never let me down. Thought it would be nice to share them with y'all.

It's worth saying that now that my exams and deadlines approach I have been a lazy girl and skipping some steps. I do notice a difference straight away and realise how much I miss a certain product when I don't use it. Eeek.

TO HYDRATE
I love hydrating as a step. I never miss it in my routine because the feeling of having soft, well-kept hair is just unique and it makes me a little more happy inside. It can't be just me...? I have been using the Marula Oil Rare Intensive Mask lately. After testing it for the past few weeks I can say that my goodness, it's a miracle worker! It replenishes your hair and it restores elasticity, it helps seals split ends and overall makes you hair more manageable. I would highly recommend this if you have dull/ damaged and unruly hair.

TO DETANGLE
When you step out of the shower and your hair is wet, it's at its most fragile so you need to avoid pulling it. It can break easily and if you treated it beforehand, it will all be a waste of time because you're damaging it. I love to use the Dubble Trubble De-Tangle Spray by Daniel Galvin Jr. which not only smells amazing but it also contains botanical extracts and natural ingredients that are gentle and rejuvenating. I don't have the most knotty hair but I do notice the help it gives in brushing through it when I use it.

TO PROTECT
Heat protecting sprays are my thing. I'm hoarding many but I always go back to this one by Urban Fudge called Feel the Heat. It makes my hair smell amazing and it doesn't grease it up so I can use a gentle amount all over my head and not feel it as it's light. Product overload is a big concern for me - anything too heavy leaves my hair lank and limp. I also love this spray because it protects my hair from the drying/styling I usually put it through and it adds a little bit of texture and shine.

TO STYLE
The Wella Velvet Amplifier primer leaves my hair manageable and gives natural hold that lasts all day. It is so light I can use it under my other usual products. Just run the primer through damp hair and then apply your mousse/lotions/heat protectors/whatever on top. It brings out the best in your everyday styling products and you only need a small squirt, so it will last ages!

TO MAINTAIN
The last step of my hair care routine is using something that will tame the frizz and take care of any split ends. My go-to pick is by Urban Fudge and it's their Iced Tropical Cocktail Miracle Ends Freeze Smoother (longest name ever). It's an amazing product and I love using it as a last step because it really finishes the look. I find that when I do use it, my hair looks so healthy and shiny!

So these are my 5 picks. I'd love to know what you use on your hair!
Let me know in the comments.
XOXO

  3. I'm actually so bad at taking care of my hair, I basically just shampoo & condition it... I've just bought a "Hydrating mist" to try and help with my dry ends though so fingers crossed it helps! I love the sound of the detangle spray, my hair gets so knotty..!

  10. Oooo the mask sounds gorgeous! My hair is super long so I always need extra moisturising products. I'm a bit precious about my hair tbh, I'm so scared of getting it cut. It sounds like you've just had yours done? I've just reviewed some Duck & Dry products on my blog that you might like actually!

  12. I'm quite big on SLS free shampoos and I wash my hair just once a week and dry shampoo in between. My hair actually looks better when it's dirty. I also like using oils on my hair after washing it in order to keep it hydrated.
