As someone who wears black most of the time, spring and summer can be a bit of a struggle because you're almost expected to switch up your colour palette and welcome brighter and lighter shades in your style. I've been always a fan of denim and recently after getting this shirt dress I felt ready to style it with a gem I 'borrowed' from my mum's closet - a vintage suede jacket.
Let's be real, suede as leather is the worst match for England since here it rains all the time and this material can get marks and stains easily. I tend to only get it out when I know it's going to be a good day outside because if I ruined it I would probably shed a tear or two (and mum would totally kill me). Brown is a lovely neutral colour for people like me who tend to stay away from loud and bright shades. It also goes SO well with denim, it's the perfect combo. If you're a fan of this jacket, this option here is a pretty similar match and this one here if you're more into faux leather. Suede pieces are a nice investment and they last a lifetime if you take good care of them. As for the boots, I got them from Zara last summer. A total impulse purchase that I don't regret at all (thank goodness) and they're so comfy!

The long sleeve denim shirt dress is from Matalan's "must haves" and it features placket detailed button down fastenings and two front pockets. It's honestly a lovely item, made of great quality lyocell so you don't sweat in it, it's easy to wash and iron - all important factors for me. It retails for £20 - pretty budget friendly - and overall it's an amazing staple in anyone's closet if you're looking for the perfect spring dress. It'e easy to dress up or down and adapt it to your style as well since it's plain and simple.
Anyway, I hope everyone's having an amazing day. A new beauty post will be up next! I'd love to know if you're a fan of suede jackets and if you own one in your collection. X
