How is it possible that whenever I have the day off and I happen to be writing spring posts, the weather is grim outside yet when I'm scheduled to work all day it always seems to be gloriously sunny? Ahhh, life.
Anyway, my makeup routine has been pretty much the same for the last few months (you can have a little peek here at what I've been using non stop), so I haven't done any posts on it, however lately I have added a few things into my bag that I thought it would be interesting and fun sharing them with you. As you may have guessed from my recent post on 5 body products for glowing skin, I'm all about that ~ natural glow ~, pretending to be a goddess in Greece when really I'm stuck in rainy old England.
Carmex is back in my life now and I had to snatch this cute leopard print design that came out when The Jungle Book was released in the cinemas. By the way, I watched the movie and I liked it! I also got a second on the go perfume from Victoria's Secret called Fabulous that just smells of spring and summer. It's light, floral and sweet but not overwhelming.
My new mascara is by Code VLM which does it all - volume, length and a little push to keep the lashes up all day. I also find it to be buildable so sometimes I go light-handed in the day and then all out in the evening. Oh, it's also not tested on animals which makes me pretty happy about re-purchasing it.
As for the base, two products stood out to me - my new contour palette by MeMeMe Cosmetics that now is completely used and re-used unlike in the photos. I love mixing cream products because they're easier to blend together and make the perfect contour shade in this case. I also find it really natural-looking and with no harsh lines to be seen. Personally I only go for the contour and bronzing colours and then use a different highlighter as the one in the palette is too cool-toned for me. Speaking about glow, I started adding the Miss Sporty Insta Glow foundation with my normal base product - Dior Forever - for an extra bit of bronze as if I spent time at the beach.
On the cheeks I've been using the Miss Sporty insta-glow bronzer that has slight shimmer in it and the Physician's Formula Happy Booster blush which has the cutest packaging and adds a fresh flush of colour which looks natural and makes me look healthy.
Last but certainly not least has been a multi-tasking product that has blown me away. The Marula Oil Rare Treatment which can be used on skin and hair. It stops my hair from getting fizzy, I use it before blow-drying for faster drying time and it hydrates and protects from heat.
I'd love to know what are your spring essentials and what have y'all have been up to lately. I've been binge-watching Gossip Girl again for the third time. I'm addicted.
