By now you probably know that I love palettes. I use them, collect them and blog about them a lot. I've also been a huge fan of Too Faced for quite some time, so when I finally knew the release date of the Sweet Peach palette in the UK, I literally bookmarked it on my phone and drew stars and happy faces on all of my wall calendars. A bit extreme isn't it? Anyway, today I wanted to review this little gem for you, compare it to its sister, the Bons Bons palette, and then do a giveaway! To enter it, follow the instructions at the bottom of the post.
The Packaging: Classic Too Faced, they kept the theme with their newest palette - the tin case packaging and the magnetic closure - but this time with peaches embossed in it with a lovely ombre orange-neutral gradient. I said it before and I'll say it again, I love the quality of the outside as much as the inside.
The Eyeshadows: I have been very pleasantly surprised with how high the brand has kept their standards. I love how pigmented are the mattes and the shimmery shades and the fact that there is a nice mixture of finishes. The only one that lacked performance for me was Talk Derby To Me, the dark navy colour on the bottom right. Everything else smashed it and I was happy with the amount of transitional and highlighting shades given to us, including the browns that some people complained about. If this was a palette only based around orange colours I probably wouldn't have bought it. The dark olive green on the top row, Bless Her Heart, is seriously my all time favourite eyeshadow I think. It goes so well with my brown eyes and it can be warn on its own or paired up with other colours.
The palette also includes a little leaflet showing you how to recreate three options that go from a light every day look to a smokey eye, but with such a variety of colours the options are endless.
Final Thoughts: No matter what your eyeshadow collection looks like, I think that this is a palette that is worth checking out. Touch it, swatch it and smell it.
Chocolate Bon-Bons VS Sweet Peach
You may remember that I did a review and a giveaway on the Too Faced Bon Bons palette (here) and since they're basically sisters, I thought it would have been nice to do a little comparison. First of all, let's start with the obvious - one smells of peaches and the other one smells of chocolate. Personally I prefer the chocolate scent, but I do like how much attention to detail the brand has put into something like the theme, the smell and the look. Both packagings kill it because they're secure and they don't accumulate dust or dirt like say, the Nars packaging.
In terms of eyeshadow quality, I think the brand has kept it up and as usual I can only find one shade I may not be super keen on but nothing that would stop me from re-purchasing my palette. Like mentioned before, I know that some people may be a little disappointed that they don't include "crazy" colours, but personally I prefer seeing little bright shades here and there but a neutral palette overall. The Bon-Bons is more pinky and a little more neutral-cool tone whilst the Sweet Peach has a warmer side. If you have the Bon Bons, I still think that you can justify getting the Sweet Peach because the overall vibe and colour theme is different and there's no duplicates - you may think at first that there are but when I went back and checked I couldn't really find any identical copy. The verdict? Have both, they're worth it.
