You guys know by now that I'm not one to buy collaborations from YouTubers or Bloggers that often. The only time I reviewed something from a member of the Team Internet has been the Fleur De Force makeup line but other than that I stick to buying classics from brands I know. One collaboration that got me EXTREMELY excited though, has been the Champagne collection that Becca did with the queen of eyeshadow blending Jaclyn Hill.
I've been watching Jaclyn for YEARS and I have to admit a lot of my passion for eyeshadows and contouring was born after continuously stalking her channel. The mix of sass, sarcasm and funny moments really makes her a person worth following. I purchased quite a few things that she recommended and loved them all so I wanted to get my hands on one of her own creations to literally have a little piece of her in my collection - bit creepy.
Anyway, sh released a few new products with Becca - the well known Champagne Pop highlighter in pressed powder form, cream form and liquid form, an eyeshadow palette, and a face palette. I couldn't get my hands on everything as I've been eyeing a new handbag purchase but I had to have the face palette and of course the eyeshadows.
The eyeshadow palette comes in this gorgeous gold packaging and features some very warm and wearable shades with a nice mix of mattes and shimmers. I will admit I wasn't expecting much by the time it arrived to me because the reviews I read on Sephora were pretty negative but personally I haven't found the pigmentation to be bad at all. My personal favourite shade is Cognac and I'm happy to see that I can easily travel with this gem as it has only 5 colours but they're all easy to wear and nice to mix together in order to create day to night looks.
SWATCHES - CHARDONNAY, CHAMPAGNE TOAST, CORDIAL, COGNAC, BORDEAUX.
The face palette is probably the 'IT' product of this line and it features highlighters and blushes. I found it funny how my mum was really into this product when she's usually pretty neutral with her makeup-related reactions and nothing tends to 'wow' her. I think that says a lot.
First of all the palette comes with a huge mirror that is perfect to use when you want to apply makeup. This little box of joy features three blushes (a matte, a semi-matte and a shimmer) plus the classic Champagne Pop highlighter and the new bomb in town, a true gold called Prosecco Pop which I think they should sell separately.
I found all of the shades here to be nicely pigmented, soft and easy to apply. None of them looked chunky on my face and you really need a little to go a long way, especially with the brighter blushes just to avoid the clown look. I like the variety of shades as you can take this palette from spring and summer to autumn and winter easily as you can layer them and mix them up as you please.
SWATCHES - ROSE SPRITZ, AMARETTO, PAMPLEMOUSSE, CHAMPAGNE POP, PROSECCO POP.
Between the two, if I had to pick a product I would go for the face palette as it's a little more unique and has a lot of product which means you get more for your money. The eye palette is pretty and the colours are gorgeous but if you hoard eye palettes like I do you'll probably find some dupes in your collection.
You can pre-order both of these here if you're based in UK, as they're not out yet (release date is on June 21st). I bought my products from Sephora on the release date in the States.
Let me know what you think and if you're planning to purchase anything!
