New to My Skincare Stash

So it's officially summer then.
As usual there's me complaining when it's always raining, but as soon as the sun arrives I'm one of those people who takes refuge at home with a bottle of Corona and a good movie. Logic, eh?

Last month I finished up all my skincare products that I featured in my spring skincare routine here, so it was about time I looked for something new to try, just to keep things interesting. I get bored of using the same stuff over and over, and I'm sure you'd get bored of reading about the same products as well. Here's three newbies in my routine that I'm excited to share with you all!

I love trying new cleansers and this one works wonders in the morning when you need to get rid of any excess oils that may still be there from the heavy moisturisers/face oils you used the night before. You know by now that I'm one of those people who likes to go to bed with a greasy face because my skin is super dehydrated. It's light, it refreshes you and it preps the skin for any product you may apply afterwards but it doesn't strip it excessively so you won't feel tight and in need of another heavy product afterwards. I'd say this is good even for people who have spot-prone skin as it's not too harsh and it won't irritate it. Something that I also noticed after a few days of using it regularly is how more glowing I look, which is lovely.

An extra addition to my routine has been this lotion from DHC. I'm all about keeping it simple and not using many things, but as it's a Japanese brand (and I love Japan and Asian beauty products in general), I really wanted to give this a shot. I apply it on a cotton pad and then massage it on my face, concentrating especially on dry areas that show signs of wrinkles coming through. This is an excellent thing to add if you want firmer skin as well.

Now hear me out, I know that the thought of spreading snail slime all over your face is not the most glamorous thing, but this cream doesn't smell or feel slimy at all. In fact it helps moisturise nicely, soothe irritated skin and attenuate some badass blemishes. I had a few days last month when my face was getting a little too spotty and when I started using this, I noticed a huge improvement in just a day or two. It contains organic snail slime extract which is rich in allantoin, collagen, elastin and other micronutrients and contrary to what I imagined, it's not green, it's white.
I'll definitely try more products from this brand.

I'm still looking for a good SPF cream that won't turn my face into a greasy mess so if you have any suggestions, tweet me

  8. Snail creams, masks etc are what I am going to be buying soon! You straight up need to know that the Benefit DreamScreen sunscreen is awesome!!!! Light, great SPF and dries quickly to almost matte. Works very well under my makeup!!!

  9. That cleanser sounds amazing! I love discovering new skincare products, especially ones that are off the beaten path. I feel you on the hunt for SPF, though. I prefer physical sunscreens, and good ones are not always so easy to find. I will say that I'm obsessed with the IT Cosmetics CC+ Powder, which has SPF 50, as a way of not only making my skin look flawless, but also letting me reapply SPF without ruining my makeup.
