Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipsticks

A few weeks ago you may have spotted a little haul on my snapchat (whatkrisdid), and in it I featured a couple of rose gold shiny gems from the new Soap & Glory collection of lipsticks. I took the photos not long after but I wanted to properly test them and see how I was getting on before letting you know officially on here. I feel like when you press 'publish' to a post it's all a little permanent and you can't really go back and edit an opinion without looking a little weird. I'm also quite picky with my lip products as I have many and my expectations seem to be getting higher every day.

So, the first thing I loved is, of course, the packaging. I tend to overlook the S&G counter a lot of the time as it's smaller compared to other bigger brands, but as soon as I walked past it with its "new" stickers plastered everywhere I knew it was meant to be. I was well into it.
The shades I picked up are from the nudes collection - surprise surprise - but you'll find pinks and reds too if they are more your thing. Each collection has eight shades and three different finishes - matte, shine (which is like a cream-sheen) and satin. Each lipstick costs £9 but you can often find them on offer.

The matte option I bought, 5th Avenude, is the first one I tested. After being addicted to liquid lipsticks I find it hard to go back to other products like matte lipsticks. I must say I like the shade but I think it suits someone a little more tanned than me. I will take this on vacation for sure. The finish is not drying at all, it feels quite lightweight on application and it takes a little while to settle. I would't say this is kiss-proof and after a heavy meal it does need re-applying. 7.5/10

Love-O-Beige, is a gorgeous natural looking light brown with a creamy finish that you can apply on a bus as it's very forgiving and requires little precision. I love the colour on me and it can be worn daily. The only thing worth noting is that as the finish is not long lasting, you'll need to re-apply it every few hours or so depending on your lifestyle. I would say it lasted about 3 hours on me. 8.5/10

I really like these lipsticks and I will definitely be trying a few more colours from the range when they happen to be on offer but I wouldn't buy them full priced. I'd love to know if you tried them and what are your thoughts on this new collection.

  13. I bought some of these when they were on 3 for 2 and I was quite disappointed with the staying power of the nude one I got for what would have been £9!
