Black has always been my favourite colour and the one I feel most comfortable wearing - I mean, it is slimming! With time though, I decided to wear more grey and white as well, but a shade that I've just recently started adding to my collection is navy. I think that buying my Gucci Soho Disco in this dark blue colour has made me realise that this is indeed a great substitute for black when you feel like changing things a little bit, but staying in your comfort zone too. I won't even tell you how relieved my mother was when I showed the new additions to my closet that were not black! *pats self on shoulder*
Don't expect me to wear anything brighter though.
In preparation for the Blogger's Ball soon, I decided I would plan an outfit, which is something I never do. I wanted to ditch (temporarily) black and show you what I'll wear so if you spot me, you can easily recognise me and come say hi.
(If I publish this post before the event I'm going to HAVE to stick to my promise, right? )
So let's start with the little details;
A gorgeous necklace I can't stop wearing is this one here by La Maison Du Carat called Blue Inferno*, which looks like an eye. I went for the topaz gemstone since as you can tell I'm on a blue-love phase at the moment. It's such a subtle but stunning addition to any outfit that many people compliment and notice whenever I wear it. Of course you could rock it with anything but I see it more as a nice piece of jewellery for the evening, that adds some bling and sophistication to any look. It retails for $60 and it's made of sterling silver so you don't have to worry about it going yellow if you use it every day. You have different models and colours on the company's site so you can always see similar options that may suit your taste a little more.
I'll be doing an in-depth review of my bag soon but I can tell you straight away that this little guy is so spacious and holds all my daily essentials and more. The pebbled leather makes it a great every day bag that you don't have to baby around and I couldn't be more happy with the colour I picked.
As for the jumpsuit - once again Closet London killed it with this number. I featured a gorgeous shirt dress from them a while back (here) and I was so impressed by the quality that I ended up browsing their site again and again lately. This jumpsuit is from their Spring Tides collection and it creates a very flattering figure, highlighting the right areas. It's a wrap details so it accentuated my waist more and showed an hourglass figure without having to be tight which means you can comfortably wear this to dinner and not worry about the food baby to make an appearance.
So there it is - navy is the perfect colour for all-black lovers. Let me know if you've been stepping out of your comfort zone lately! Also tweet me if you'll be coming to the Bloggers Ball as I'd love to meet some new faces.
