Beauty Essentials to Recover from a Killer Hangover

Recently I've suffered from a couple of bad hangovers due to celebrations since, as you may know, I graduated a couple of weeks ago. Some of my pals took this as a chance to go to town and spend a little too much on drinks but it has been fun. As I'm not used to going too crazy with the alcohol intake, I have realised that my skin has suffered from it (shock horror). In the past few weeks I've had to change up and intensify the care level for both my face and body, especially on the dreaded 'day after', as I started noticing some issues like dryness, pimples and overall zombie look. Here are the amazing products that helped me:

LAVERA Smoothing Body Scrub - I don't know if it's a psychological thing or what, but using a nice scrub after a night out really helps me 'regenerate' especially since I tend to crush into bed and sometimes not remove makeup properly (oops) so in the morning I need a shower straight away.

YOURS TRULY ORGANICS Organic Balancing Toner - I use it to return my skin to its optimal PH level and improve its ability to absorb moisture in the next steps. For me this product is an essential as I have acne prone skin and it helps me clear my pores.

JURLIQUE Rose Body Oil - What I would consider to be luxury in a bottle. This product is pretty straight forward but it leaves my skin feeling so moisturised and not greasy! A couple of drops go a long way and I massage it all in circular motions everywhere. I noticed that the driest parts of my body, like my elbows, are now super smooth. My boyfriend said my skin is even more soft than usual and started calling me flower (nawww). I give this gem two thumbs up for sure!

MARY KAY CITYSCAPE Silkening Dry Mist - Perfect as a quick option to moisturise your skin lightly and effectively whilst also enjoying the lovely sweet bergamot and peonies scent. I use this as soon as I step out the shower, especially if I don't have the energy to go for the oil.

111 SKIN Bio Cellulose Facial Treatment Mask - This thing is amazing but it makes me look scary. I truly believe I could have a part in some horror movie whenever I wear it. My dog even barked at me the other night when I was using it.
Aside from that, it's a miracle product as it hydrates and re-balances my face almost instantly. I use it in the evening before bed, leave it on for 20 minutes and then take it off and go to sleep. The next morning I feel like I've been on holiday and slept fifteen hours.

DHC Rich Eyezone Carepack* - I'm not new to DCH as a brand, you may remember me mentioning it in my recent post "New to My Skincare Stash".  The eye masks come with a lot of claims - de-puffening, smoothing up any lines, brightening and anything you'd really want around your eye area. I think these would be great before and after a crazy night out because they do genuinely make your eye area look its best it can be. I like using my pack as a cure though as when I go to sleep late my eyes tend to be extremely puffy the next day. This does get rid of that and with 15 uses in each pack, it's a good little stash to have.

So, has anything stood out to you? I'd love to know what you use to kill a hangover- looking face.

  3. This is a post I really needed haha. I get the WORST hangovers (can't I go back to being 18 and hangover free?!) and I feel like such a grimy sweatbag the next day. My skin suffers so much as, like you, I don't always take my makeup off the night before. I love the sound of the SIlkening Dry Mist for something that's refreshing and easy to use when you feel a little rough

  7. The lavera Ssmoothing body scrub sounds amazing! I suffer terribly with hangovers which is why I don't drink often. Even if I drink water before bed, I still suffer! These products sound great though! Also love the sound of the rose oil (and I love the bottle packaging) xx
