I can't be the only one who still hasn't done all the Christmas shopping, right? I barely just started and I already feel like I'm running late as I see people wrapping up presents already.
This year I wanted to do a gift guide that is beauty based and open to men and women and to different budgets. It's mostly skincare related as with makeup I feel it's easier to know the latest releases. I hope you guys like my top picks and if anything catches your eye let me know in the comments!
Lanolips Lip Ointments - Let's start with a classic in my hand bag and a great stocking filler for everyone. I like to give small useful things and any moisturisers/lip balms are great for this season. I have reviewed Lanolips before on my blog and I can assure you that any of the balms you choose from this brand will make a wonderful weapon to fight dry lips.
Yes! Nurse Hand Cream - This is a brand I fell in love with late last year and since then I have been recommending it to everyone. The hand cream is just the best thing I have tested in a long time and I even gave two to my nan who's also obsessed now. I have back-ups and the packaging is so cute. Who doesn't want a good hand cream? I recommend getting the little mittens too, just to really nourish your hands to the core.
Tangle Angel Brush - Another useful thing. I have read mixed reviews on this but a couple of my friends own one and they both love it so of course I had to test it. I found it easy to use and I adore the design since it's quite cute and girly. A great stocking filler for people who like to carry a hair brush in their purse.
Elizabeth Grant Body Lotion and Shower Gels* - You can get cute little trios containing two shower gels and a body lotion in each set. My favourite is the Graceful Angel selection that features a vanilla scented product that I'd like to bathe in every day.
Joan Collins Body Oil Body Polish* - The best smelling product in this guide aside from the fragrances. I am obsessed with this scrub as it's very lightweight and it helps draw out any toxins from the skin. It's also worth mentioning that the jar itself feels and looks very luxurious too. Joan Collins is a great brand and this product is a good pick for any age range.
Mary Kay Limited Edition Eye Colour Palette and Nail Polish - Some bold and out there shades mixed with gorgeous gold and sunset hues. I love this palette as it's easy to take on vacation, through seasons and from day to night. The nail polish though is the star of the show - both shades are SO gorgeous and they last 4 days with no chipping.
Elemental Herbology Radiance & Vitality Set - This cute little set contains a facial cleanser and an overnight resurfacing cream. The kit is supposed to make your skin brighter and smoother. The cleanser actually improved my skin texture and this could be a great little stocking filler for someone who can experiment with a new brand. There's enough product to last you a while, just to see if you get any reaction or not.
Proto-col Baked Mineral Shimmer - Of course I needed to include a little makeup and this gorgeous compact contains the best mineral shimmer that can be applied on cheeks or eyes and it's very kind to the skin. It leaves a lovely glow and it's perfect for the festive season.
Elizabeth Grant Vanilla Body Butter* - I love receiving body butters. I think it's easy to find out which scent a person likes most and with me vanilla or coconut are always the winning picks! This one by Elizabeth Grant is great for the skin as it's easy to absorb and very moisturising.
Charles Farris Candles - One of my all time favourite brands for candles that is still not super popular with bloggers - but so worth knowing about. If you're into scents that hug the whole room and that can be smelt then CF's candles are the one. They burn easily and they last a very long time too.
Yardley Body Spray Collection - This packaging is made of 4 different sprays that contain light skin caring floral extracts. The scents are Lavender, Rose, Lily and Bluebell. Definitely a great pick if you're too afraid to buy a perfume for someone - not to mention it's far more affordable too.
Baylis & Harding Jojoba Silk & Almond Oil Gift bag - This cute gift bag contains a shower gel, a body lotion and a body spritz. The clutch bag can be re-used as a makeup bag as it's very spacious and practical. B&H have always gorgeous presentations and packaging so you know your gift will look great no matter what.
High Definition Lipgloss Trio and High Definition Essential Brow Set - Lipglosses are a product that definitely needs more love. As they're slowly re-gaining popularity I have been wearing some neutral shades that I fell in love with. This trio from HD is moisturising and long lasting - a great addition to anyone's stash if they're just dipping their toes back into the gloss world. Brows on the other hand will always make anyone's face look on point so the brow set that comes with pencil, palette and brow gel is the perfect essential kit for anyone who wants easy access to the perfect eye and brow look.
Baylis & Harding Fuzzy Duck Black Pepper & Sage Basket Set - This GORGEOUS basket contains a body wash, body butter and body polisher. The presentation is just stunning and feels very premium (and it comes with a cute little candle you can burn whilst relaxing on your next bath session)
Dermalogica Power Rescue Masque Trio* - This gift is more on the expensive side but my oh my, isn't it the most gorgeous trio you'd like to receive under the tree? You can use all three masks at the same time in different problematic areas (from the dry patches to the clogged pores). Dermalogica is an amazing skincare brand that never disappoints me and I tried two of the three masks in here and they're one of the best products I have in my cupboards.
FRAGRANCES - for HER
Fragrances are a classic to buy for Christmas but it can be pretty tricky to know which scent is good for whoever you're gifting it to. Personally I know from experience that my boyfriend is not fussy at all, but my mother on the other side has a very specific taste which is the total opposite of mine. We never agree on perfumes and the only way I found I can nail the purchase is by actively going shopping with her and listening to her favourites. Here's a few we both found we love and recommend you to sniff ASAP;
First I wanted to mention Elizabeth Grant*. I have three options for you to explore and two are in convenient packaging that is small and easy to carry around in your handbag:
Graceful (with top notes of bergamot and raspberry and base notes of musk and vanilla)
Heavenly (with top notes of peach and nectarine and base notes of musk and amber) and
Vanilla (clean scent of vanilla if you know that the person is well into it. I love it!). Your best bet for these perfumes is Amazon as they have great deals.
Boss Hugo Boss The Scent for Her - This is a more fancy pick but well worth the splurge if you're looking for a seductive scent that keeps on giving. At first it's quite light but after the top notes of oriental flower hit you, they get deeper and more complex. A must-have for women who are into floral perfumes but want something that smells more sophisticated and sexy. I feel a million dollar when I wear this.
Lacoste Eau De Lacoste Sparkling - This has been on my wish-list for a while and I'm so happy I now have it in my collection. With top notes of red apple, blackberries and mandarin and base notes of cashmere wood, it's one for the sassy ladies. It's fresh, it lasts all day and you always gets noticed.
I have a signature scent - the Molecule 01 perfume by Escentric Molecules (reviewed here) and when it comes to gifting I always recommend it because it truly is one of a kind. The brand offers a variety of other scents like Molecule 02 (which is nutty and warm) and 03 (which smells green and mossy). Both are actually great unisex fragrances as I tend to share them with my partner. These scants are beyond everything I have tried as they're not as well known yet they leave a great impression on strangers whenever they get to smell any of these three scents.
GIFTS FOR HIM
Gifting for men can be difficult but in my case I have a boyfriend who really isn't that fussy and appreciates everything that he can use daily and finds useful. Of course I wanted to include a few items he 100% recommend me to check out and let y'all know about them in case you're still feeling stuck for a present.
Of course Baylis & Harding have the nicest little duo set made of a hair and body wash bottle and a shower gel that smell of amber and sandalwood. The scent is what caught my attention the most as it's very unique and pleasant.
On the same topic of skin care, Proto-col have an award winning moisturising facial gel that is non-sticky, easy to absorb and great to prevent wrinkles as well as plump any already existing fine lines.
Now onto the fragrances...
I had to mention Boss Intense Eau De Parfum that has been my boyfriend's go-to for the past couple of years. Whenever he runs out of it, there's always a new bottle ready to be used in the cupboard. As you can imagine this is more long lasting and strong to the original eau de toilette and easy to wear day to night any time. Currently on offer on quite a few sites, I can't see any man rejecting this!
Lacoste Blanc Eau De Toilette had to be mentioned as it's quite different from the Boss option I described above. This scent is more fresh and light (and you can definitely identify citrous tones and a lemon zesty flavour) not overpowering or strong by any means. It lasts a good amount of time and in my opinion is geared more towards younger men in their 20s and 30s.
Last but certainly not least is the new Jaguar Pace fragrance which comes in the most badass bottle and offers an aromatic fragrance that is perfect for winter. With top notes of rosemary and green apple and base notes of amber wood and moss, this is a perfume that will make heads turn from morning all the way until the evening.
So that's it for my gift guide. Have you spotted anything you may like? Let me know in the comments and have an amazing start to your week. I'm heading to Milan for a few days and I can't wait to share a travel diary post very soon.
