Unboxing: Cohorted Beauty Box January Edition
You didn't really think I was going to forget my monthly unboxing of the Cohorted beauty box, right? It's becoming almost a little tradition on here and lots of you seem to enjoy having a little peek and seeing the goodies each month.
With the new year, I was excited to see what brands were going to be introduced. As well as some classics such as Clarins, I have also had the chance to test a couple of new discoveries which is what I love about this box the most - each month I find out about at least one new brand.
My hair needs a cut so bad right now. I have been super busy and on my days off, I blog, so that's how I want to excuse myself for being lazy and avoiding a well-needed cut. My ends especially were starting to feel dry but after having used this Living Proof mask twice, the difference was amazing. It's an intensive treatment that nourishes hair, adds softness and shine. It definitely healed some hair strands and made it much easier to brush the mane in the morning. For being only £12, it definitely feels a lot more expensive and luxurious.
So the first thing I picked up for the box was this Living Proof Flex Shaping Hairspray, which retails for £15. I actually already tested it and I enjoyed using it as it's medium hold so your hair looks nice but doesn't get that crispy obvious finish. I used it on damp hair to build a structured and more defined style but of course, it can be used as a finishing touch. My mum ended up stealing this from me as she uses hair products a lot more than me. I see you, ma.
Not gonna lie, lip products are my favourite find in any beauty box. This gorgeous gem is from Clarins and it's their Longer Shine Lipstick (£20). First of all, can we just look at the colour I got? Royal Plum is the most breathtaking shade, perfect for winter! This lipstick is long-wear but it's not drying and it does shine. Its moisturising texture makes it easy to apply and it doesn't feel uncomfortable, heavy or drying through the day. It's like a lipstick and a gloss hybrid but without the sticky effect. I know that some people won't love this as much as me because it's a darker shade but give the collection a try in lighter colours if it's more your thing.
Not one but two lip products. I almost heard the angels sing! The Clarins Joli Rouge Long-wear Shine Lipstick, which retails for £20, is one of the easiest lip liners I have used this far. What stood out to me about this particular liner is the fact that it's enriched with jojoba oil so even when I remove it my lips don't feel dry or like they're about to crack. My shade is Chocolate and it's right up my street as I love brown based colours.
Now, this is definitely a brand discovery for me - Doucce. Anyone heard of them before? I haven't, and I've been so excited to play with this mascara. I snatched it before my best friend was able to, and now it's officially mine to use. It's very volumising whilst also adding some length. Despite the long and chunky looking bristles, I didn't have a difficult time applying this mascara and it separated my lashes evenly. I would say don't go overboard with applying it as you really don't need that much of it to create a mesmerising effect.
You guys don't even know how much my face needed this mask. The 20ml version retails for £40 and it's good for all skin types as it refines pores, brightens and keeps skin hydrated.
I have only used it once so far so I can't really give you a review but my first impressions are - it's good and your skin feels rested and new once you finish using it. I shall keep you informed on how I get on with this!
What do you like the look of? Let me know what caught your eye and if you tried any of these products. x
