I really wanted the first outfit of 2017 to be something that made me feel comfortable in my own skin and that was classy and sophisticated. I called this my Victoria Beckham look because I can just see her wearing it out and about in London getting snapped by the paparazzi. I may have spent a little too long re-pinning images of her but hey, hello 2017, I need style inspo!
I used to dislike blazers years ago as I associated them with mid-age office women but after hitting my 20th birthday I suddenly started to love them. They're such an essential piece and there's so many cuts and types that no matter your taste, age, style or price range you WILL find at least one that will become your wardrobe essential. I have a few but this one here by Aina Brence has stolen my heart.
I always loved seeing women wearing blazers with nothing unerneath but to be honest I have never tried it myself due to fear of a nip-slip and just being uncomfortable. With the Karren jacket I feel very relaxed and as it's a wrap blazer with a v-neck and a belt, it really shows your curves and highlights your body in a flattering way. The fabric has some stretch to it so you can easily eat and move without being restricted. It comes in three other colours if black isn't your cup of tea but you know me, if I can have it black I sure will.
Blazers can be styled in a variety of ways, from tshirts, ripped jeans and trainers to trousers and pumps, they always add something to any outfit which is what I love about them.
In 2017 I definitely want to get my hands on more classic pieces as I realised I am lacking in certain departments and some specific items I feel I should have, like a damn white tshirt, because the only one I did have got stained when I went out wearing it and had a greasy dinner. The struggle.
Are there any pieces you want to get your hands on in 2017?
