Valentine's Day Perfume Picks - For Him & Her

Valentine's Day is creeping up on us and whether you're single and you want to treat yourself, or you're still looking for a gift, I wanted to just casually slide this post in your timeline, as who doesn't love perfumes? Any excuse to smell fabulous is a good excuse for me.

Every Valentine's Day I like to treat myself to something, because self-love is the most important love after all, right? I actually have a post about this coming very soon! But anyway, I am very picky with my fragrances and I wanted to just feature four - two for men and two for women.

The BOSS fragrances are a known and firm favourite of mine, as you may have noticed in a past gift guide somewhere. From the packaging to the actual scent, they just nail it, and they're definitely suitable from day to night.

The fragrance for her is fruity and floral but I don't find it overpowering and over the top. You can definitely sense it's more of a mature smell and not necessarily something a teenager would go for as their first scent. It also features a darker note and a characteristic gourmand twist.

The fragrance for him is more fresh spicy with an aromatic influence. It's quite intense and it lasts a good amount of hours. I would say that this is perfect for any time of the year but especially autumn-winter and early spring. It is less sweet than the original version as this is 'the scent'.

The Vera Wang Princess of Hearts* perfume is probably the most 'themed' scent here as it's covered and shaped like a heart, plus it features an adorable crown as a cap - definitely one to consider as a gift. This is a sweeter scent compared to the Boss one I reviewed above and it feels lighter and fresher, featuring top notes of bergamot and wild strawberry. It has a decent staying power and right now it's heavily discounted so if you want to save yourself some pennies check it out for sure!

Dior Sauvage is a classic, and one of my all time favourite scents on guys. It's a fresh-spicy perfume with top notes of Calabria bergamot and a woody touch. It's more of a day scent in my opinion as it's lighter and less 'overpowering' than what you'd want to if you go out in the evening. It feels very luxurious and the cap is magnetic as well which is cool.

Let me know if you tried any of these scents before and also what are your plans for this year's Valentines' Day? x
