Trend Talk: Neon Green

I haven't done a Trend Talk chat in a while and I'm excited to share this one as never in a million years did I think I would be falling for the neon green trend (also named the key trend of the year) however with models, magazines, bloggers and street style gurus showing it off left right and centre I have been 'influenced' to wear it. Hell, I'll even admit I had fun injecting some colour into my otherwise very monochromatic and dark closet (I could literally make a mountain out of the pile of black clothes I own).

When I buy trendy pieces, I try to limit myself to a couple of picks to satisfy the craving for them, but limiting the spending because most of us can't realistically afford to re-fresh our closets completely each year. I will admit though, I have an alarming number of corduroy pieces in my closet...

Working for a creative company daily and talking to buyers regularly keeps me in the loop with trends and neon is certainly not going anywhere this year.
With my personal taste I find it overwhelming to sport too many statement pieces at once so in my case, when I wear this jumper, I tend to keep it simple with everything else. Black coated jeans and trainers are the winning combo for days I want to be comfortable, but if you wish to dress this up, you can with heeled boots.

This gorgeous jumper was sent to me by Femme Luxe and it comes in a variety of colours. I also have the grey version which I'll be styling on my next post.
It washes well, it keeps you cosy but it's not too warm or heavy, so ideal if you work in an office environment and want to keep lightly warm. I went for a size S/M and it fits perfectly but if you prefer a looser look then go for M/L.

I'm definitely keen to get a couple more neon pieces for spring and summer now that I've bitten the bullet.

Do you like this trend?

  2. I always worry when I see a neon green item in stores how I would partner it with items in my wardrobe. I love that you've gone for black as it really makes the colour pop

  3. I do love this trend, but I'm not sure if I can pull it off myself. I saw a neon and black snakeprint denim skirt in Miss Selfridge the other day and it was lovely, just not really me!

  4. It is always nice to have a few trendy pieces in your collection isn't it. I definitely think not making them be the bulk of your wardrobe is a big thing.

  7. You look fantastic in the yellow trend, it's also the perfect colour for spring/summer. I like the way it breaks up all those dark black colours that we always wear.
