Summer Glow-Boosting Skincare Picks

It's been a weak summer overall when it comes to weather, however we can all collectively agree that the sun has finally decided to make an appearance on our cold big island the last couple of weeks (hallelujah), making us enjoy life again.

Dramatic? Maybe.
The warmth, the cocktails and the beach barbecues bring me joy; especially if like me you're based near the sea, this is the only time of the year you actually get to see it and enjoy it.

With the climate spicing up, I have felt inspired to share some of my trusted summer beauty staples which bring back some glow and make me feel like a Californian girl. Maybe you'll be grabbing one or two of the below when browsing and reading blogs on the beach. Online shopping when tipsy on cocktails anyone?!
Here we go...

The Dermalogica Multi-Vitamin Face Mask is certainly not a newbie in my stash, I originally bought this because I spotted a few bloggers rave about it on Instagram and after careful testing through winter as well to make sure it's worth the £50 price tag, I came to the conclusion that I love it as it leaves my skin feeling soft with a natural glow. Bonus points - it smells amazing.

The Hempz Herbal Body Scrub is probably my favourite of the lot as it's been helping combat my back spots. This is a gentle but effective cleanser that helps get rid of dry and dull skin. It's perfect for any summer routine as it leaves you feeling smooth, soft and supple. I especially use this on my back where, as mentioned above, I tend to get breakouts and spots due to my sweaty gym sessions and overall oily skin. The scrub turns into oil when you rub it in the shower, which doesn't make it as rough on the skin as you'd expect, and it helps reduce redness.

Another fantastic product is the Hempz Citrine Crustal & Quartz Moisturiser* which has been my go-to for after-tanning sessions as it helps retain moisture and hydration. The consistency is very creamy however it does get absorbed by the skin very quickly and keeps your body hydrated and feeling renewed for hours after application. I particularly love the subtle glow given by the quartz dust and once again, I am obsessed with the fresh smell.

Zhuzh! Tan Accelerator is the bomb for all of us who can tan but sometimes want a little boost. I went to Spain for 3 days recently and I knew I didn't have enough time to come back with a full on tan but wanted to make the most of my time there.

I took this little gem with me to use on top of my SPF cream and man did it help. This is a fabulous lightweight, spray-on formula that enhances your natural tan. It's also nourishing and very easy to apply, leaving no stickiness or oiliness behind.

Last but not least, a new comer to my routine, the Shea Moisture Detox Body Wash* and Body Lotion*
In contrast to the scrub I mentioned above, I use this all over my body, not just my back, and it's perfect to get rid of impurities without stripping your skin from its essential oils. It's great if you're on the sensitive side and suffer from flare ups or itchiness. You can feel the purifying power of this blend of shea butter, African water mint, activated charcoal and ginger which definitely helps detoxify, soften and even skin tone. You know it's a good product when you leave the shower feeling like a brand new woman every day. This product goes onto my 'need again' list. As for the lotion, it's amazing, however the one reason I won't rave about it too much is because it is sold out from their site and I am not sure if/when they will restock it. I have linked the body butter and here you can find the rest of the collection. Definitely worth a stalk.

I think I'll be purchasing the tan accelerator before my next holiday, I didn't realise you could use them with SPF! x
