Hi lovelies!
I hope the start of your week has been great! As you may have noticed, the "drugstores" here in UK have been going craaaazy and releasing tons of new products for us to fangirl about and spend money on. I am somewhat split between being happy about it and being quite sad about all the money I'm just saying goodbye to because of the makeup. I do justify it with the whole "...but you're a blogger so you kinda HAVE TO try this". Someone slap me.
Anyways, one of the newest additions was this amazing line of lip products from Revlon that I have been actually using for over a month! Yes, you read that right. I picked mine up when I was in Florida in June but didn't get to review it up until now. I thought the timing of this post was great since all of you can pick them up right at this instant if you wanted to!
I have to admit I was a little bit sceptical when I read the claims. It says it's non sticky, moisturising AND has a glossy finish. I mean perfection in a small package, right? Let's find out...
Packaging & Applicator : Quite simple and on point. It comes in a square and somewhat chunky container that is not actually too big or long so it doesn't take up lots of space in a makeup bag. The applicator is a tiny sponge. The opening is quite a tight fit so when you want to get in action you sometimes feel like something's gonna go wrong and the sponge will never come out but the positive thing is that you never get too much product out! It's not really that hard but I thought I'd put this out there because my mum complained about it and it's always good to get more points of view so you know what to expect. Definitely test it out before buying it if you're a little picky.
The Product : I have to admit I have never come across this kind of lipgloss/stick/stain before. As I applied it the first time I thought it looked a little weird and very thick. It wasn't sticky though which I was pleased with. I wasn't sure about how I felt which is why I kept using it and using it again until I could make a final decision. The thing I like about this product is that you can layer it up and it doesn't look cakey and it doesn't get a weird texture. It does dry quite quickly so make sure to spread it evenly around but it doesn't feel drying at all and it has indeed a glossy finish. It tastes a little weird but I'm not too fussy about that. I think Revlon did an excellent job overall when it comes to shade selection too. This nude/neutral I picked up called London Posh would look nice on many skin colours plus the whole range is full of brights and darker colours too which means there is at least one you'll like!
Resistance : Mine lasted for about 2-3 hours. I had to tap away the occasional flakey excess that would appear as the product was fading away so make sure you carry a little mirror with you. I do wish it was more long lasting but I'm not too disappointed. Obviously that could be a pain in the backside if you're rocking a darker shade. Mine was pretty neutral so it wasn't too noticeable.
The Price : It retails for £7.99 but in Boots they currently have a Buy 1 Get 1 Half Price offer going on so hurry!
The Final Verdict : I do think this product is worth a shot for everyone. It's quite different compared to most lip stains/ glosses on the market and I was pleased with my overall experience. There are parts that I think need to be worked on a little to make the formula even more awesome - like the taste - but it's nothing so major that it would stop me from buying these Moisture Stains again.
Final Score: 8/10

The colour looks surprisingly neutral, I think I'd prefer a more pigmented product but the packaging is on point from Revlon
