Oh hello October! My favourite month of the year. I'm a fan of all things spooky, of the weather changing, of the fall fashion trends and of course of the new beauty releases. Not long ago I was raving about the Apocalips Matte Velvet and before I could even get full use of them and get over the fan-girl moment...BOOM! New stuff to try out - not that I needed to try this new thing but you know, for blogging purposes I "had" to review it for you guys. Is that enough of a good excuse?
I wanted to change it up a little bit and I chose an odd colour - it's a wearable mix of brown and mauve called "Make Your Move".
The Product : The Provocalips seem to be the sister-product of the Apocalips and the difference is that in this case we have 2 products in one packaging: the lipstick on one end (in liquid form) and the "top coat" on the other, which should lock the colour and make it last longer.
The Price : £6.99
The Consistency : Fairly easy to distribute evenly around the lips. I didn't need a lip brush like I usually do - which is a huge thing in my books. The product seems quite glossy at first and then it dries into a satin finish. I top it up with the second protective coat which has moisturising-like properties and leaves the lips feeling soft whilst also locking the colour.
The Longevity : This is advertised as a long lasting/ 16 hour lip product so I will be a little more critical with it because of that reason. I do not believe this is long lasting. I would say 3-4 hours max and if you eat it disappears completely. What I do like is that the way it disappears is quite gradual as if it fades off and it doesn't leave your lips feeling dry or looking flakey.
Final Thoughts : I am really happy with this. I do believe Rimmel are doing such an incredible job with lip products lately and I'm a total fan of this new gem. The range has 7 colours but this one is definitely a shade to look out for because it's a little different than the typical plum or red. I do believe it is worth the purchase because apart from the longevity criticism I do really enjoy using this every day.
PROS
Feels nice on the lips
Affordable
Great finish
Easy application
CONS
Not as long-lasting as advertised
Have you tried this yet?
This looks lovely on, it really suits your skin tone! I think it's unrealistic that a lip product will really last sixteen hours, but I like that the fade would be gradual and hopefully not end up looking too patchy in the long run. I'll definitely have to pop in and take a look at other colours in the range :)

This is beautiful on you! Shame it doesn't last as long as it claims, but at least it doesn't look a mess as it fades :)

I love the colour you've picked and it has a great look to it at a good price; shame about the false promises but 3-4 hours isn't all the bad anyway in my book!

I haven't seen this yet! have to be honest, I'd be annoyed that this only lasted a few hours after being advertised as a 16hour long wear. the colour is pretty though x
