The cold is finally leaving us so I decided it was time to allow myself some extra glow to my usually Matte look. Something that always drives me away from highlighters is the fact that they can look a little too fake and glitter-like, not to mention they can highlight uneven texture on skin like it's nobody's business.
I honestly don't know what has attracted me to this particular product but from packaging to the way it looks on the skin I just sort of fell in love with it we could say. The Body Shop has been launching tons of new amazing stuff recently like the Lip & Cheek Velvet Sticks which I reviewed and this new highlighter goes on the book of HOT things to try.
As other predecessors, to activate it you have to twist the top in order to get some product out. Bare in mind that you really do need very little of this and the reason is - it's a cheek highlighter more than an under-eye brightener. This is the type of gem you put as a finishing touch to the contouring process, to give you that healthy glow and lift your whole look. I would recommend blending with fingers mainly and then to bring everything together just swipe once with the foundation brush you used if you feel you may have over-done it.
I will say, this is something for someone that definitely likes the glow. It was a little unusual for me to use it since, as you know, I am more of a all-matte-everything on the day to day basis. It blends well, it works with all skin-tones and just looks nice. It's not chunky, it's not glittery and it doesn't look cheap. I highly suggest moisturising well though, to avoid any dryness being highlighted.
Overall I am very happy with it and would recommend you checking it out!

ReplyDeleteIts definitely a very attractive looking product and I'm always drawn to making this type of purchase but being in the more Mature category I have to be cautious with highlighters. I like to mix it with a something light like a tinted moisturiser for an all over glow and I've recently bought the other Bodyshop radiant highlighter in a tube that I'm still experimenting with . It tends to highlight and sit in the creases of the wrinkles on my forehead. I am determined to get it right but would prefer a more dewy glow rather than a shimmer .. I think that would require a warmer toned product.
