You knew this was going to happen. You just did. A palette hoarder such as myself couldn't possibly miss the chance to add this gem to my overflowing collection of eyeshadows.
I was casually browsing the isles of Boots for some nasal spray (with spring here come the allergies), and OF COURSE I just had to have a little look in the makeup section to see if anything sparked my interest. Now, I don't know about you, but when L'Oreal released the Rose version of this palette a few months ago, I KNEW there was going to be a sequel. And here it is, in all its glory. Pretty much the most earthy-toned, wearable, chic palette you can find in the drugstores, hands down.
Price: £14.99 - pricey for a drugstore palette
Number of Shades: 1O; 4 shimmers, rest matte
The Quality: Just like the Rose version this palette proved to be quite good. It's something I would definitely classify to be complete and ready to pack for travel. It's small, compact, sleek, has matte shades for the crease and for transition, darker shades to deepen up the outer corner and the shimmer to bring the look to life. The eyeshadows' pigmentation is good and they can be used as wet too. The only shade I found lacking was the middle light yellow with shimmer, as you'll see in the swatches. The dark brown mattes instead surprised me, in a pleasant way, and they were really easy to work with.
Final Thoughts: I do think this palette is great and I can totally justify spending almost £15.00 on it. It's like a fresher version of the original Naked palette. The pigmentation may not be as high but you can build up the intensity to suit your needs.
>> When comparing the two, they both show great qualities and ultimately if you have one already you WILL like the other for sure. In general I would think the Beige version will be more popular since it can suit all skin tones and the browns and taupes are definitely shades people feel more comfortable playing with. Also, with summer coming, Beige is the one to use to take a bronzed look to the next level, if you know what I mean. If I had to pick I would go with the one I reviewed here but I do love the pinky version as well.
FINAL SCORE: 9.5/1O
La Palette Nude 'Beige' VS 'Rose' side to side
This palette is just gorgeous! I'm glad that a palette finally has more matte shades than shimmer cause sometimes you might want to have a matte eye rather than shimmer! The pigmentation looks really good from what I can see in the swatches. And you're right, my first thought when I saw this palette was that it looked exactly like a Naked Palette, except a lot cheaper! Thanks for the great review!

This really does look gorgeous. I so need to treat myself to a new palette but there is such a vast amount of them out there, it makes it so difficult to choose.
