I've never really been a huge fan of pastels. I own a few shades of course, because it's nice to give it a try once in a while, but when it comes to nails, as with clothes, I like either nude shades or deeper colours. I find myself struggling to pretend that I'm ecstatic about spring trends. Every year it's the same story, all over again: flowers, pastel colours, 'brighter' shades. Alright, we get it.
I wanted to do my own version of spring this time and feature what I would personally wear in transitioning months. The days are getting lighter and longer so I feel a little bit more cheerful hence I'm rocking something else other than black everywhere.
Soigné is a brand I discovered a few months ago and since then my love affair with Essie and Sally Hansen has slightly gone downhill. I find myself wearing these same three shades week after week, completely neglecting the rest of my collection. I can't think of one thing that I dislike about these nail varnishes. From the consistency to the way the apply, they're the bomb.
I only need one coat to get that opaque finish and I'm out the door. Most times I don't even bother using a base coat or a topcoat because they're glossy enough and stay on my nails for a good 5 days without chipping. Keep in mind I'm a hands-on kind of gal, always doing something or carrying things.
The shades I have here are Crépuscule, Couvert and Feuillage. My personal favourite?
I can't actually pick one, it depends on my mood.
They're absolutely stunning and understated yet they make you look put together and chic. I think that these would be flattering on most people, especially if you have a warm complexion. Of course they have a much wider range of colours on their site so go check them out. And please, someone let me know in the comments if they're not a fan of pastels because right now I feel like I'm the only one!

That's great if it only needs one coat! I agree with you, that the colours look very chic.
ReplyDeleteI know right, it saves so much time and effort! :)
DeleteThese look like great shades - a bit classier than your average pastel. I've been somewhat stuck in an Essie rut myself, and although I adore the brand, I'm ready to try out some more ranges other than Nail Inc. Thanks for the inspiration!

Essie is easily addictive but yeah, it's good to break out a little and try new things :) x
DeleteThe colours are lovely, I think slightly deeper colours like that look so much better than pastel colours. I actually have a blue shade from this brand which I got through a beauty box and I really like the way it applies x
ReplyDeleteI find pastels to wash my collection out a lot so I steer away most of the time haha x
DeleteThese shades are all gorgeous; I don't think I could pick a favourite. I love that you only need one coat as I hate waiting for my nails to dry lol X

haha I'm the same! I only use topcoats if I have extra time to pamper myself but generally I'm always too busy for extra nail polish application x
DeleteOh wow, these nail varnishes look like the bomb.com. Gonna look out for them!

These are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say I mind pastels as such, but they always seem a bit half-hearted... I'd rather have a proper colour haha!
